Garden plants are the carrier of garden activities,it provides various choices for garden construction and urban greening.Colored tree as the ornamental tree of leaf in landscape plants,has the independent and irreplaceable function.Especially in most parts of the north of our country,affected by the cold weather in winter,ornamental,overwintering for many years,there are few tree species that are widely used for planting.Although padus virginiana satisfy the above requirements,under the present social environment,it still has some problems in a single way to get,the number of obtained is less,higher cost of obtaining,low rate of purity obtained lead to the serious influence in ornamental effect after growing up,could not reach the expected goal.The content of this paper is based on solving the above problems,refer to the related literature about the propagation of plants both here and abroad,adopt the scientific research methods of four factor and four level orthogonal test,tuough the softwood cutting find out the best demand in rooting and survival about nutritive soil,twigs length,concentration of rooting powder solution and soak period.Adopt medium-term test record contrast and at the end of the experiment,compared the rooting rate,the growth of aboveground biomass and the growth of subterranean biomass.A summary can be used to guide the life and production of padus virginiana in rapid propagation.The results of the research include:(1)In nutritive soil,twigs length,concentration of rooting powder solution and soak period.The main factors of the four major factors is soak period.(2)Considering the the most important factors of padus virginiana under different level conditions is rooting rate of twigs.The optimal test combination of rooting rate is A2B2C4D2.It means mixed perlite and turfy soil by 6:4,use the 10 cm cutting wood soaked in concentration of rooting powder solution for 500 ppm with 45 minutes,then get the best.(3)Use the number of rooting as the reference index,which could reflect the subterranean biomass,The optimal test combination of the number of rooting is A1B2C4D3.It means mixed perlite and turfy soil by 5:5,use the 10 cm cutting wood soaked in concentration of rooting powder solution for 1000 ppm with 45 minutes,then get the best.(4)Use the number of new leaves as the reference index,which could reflect the aboveground biomass.The optimal test combination of the number of new leaves is A2B4C3D4.It means mixed perlite and turfy soil by 6:4,use the 20 cm cutting wood soaked in concentration of rooting powder solution for 1500 ppm with 30 minutes,then get the best.(5)Use the increase with leaf area as the reference index,which could reflect the aboveground biomass.The optimal test combination of the increase with leaf area is A1B2C1D2.It means mixed perlite and turfy soil by 5:5,use the 10 cm cutting wood soaked in concentration of rooting powder solution for 500 ppm with speed,then get the best.(6)Use the root dry weight as the reference index,which could reflect the subterranean biomass.The optimal test combination of the root dry weight is A1B4C4D3.It means mixed perlite and turfy soil by 5:5,use the 20 cm cutting wood soaked in concentration of rooting powder solution for 1000 ppm with 45 minutes,then get the best.(7)The optimal test combination about softwood cutting of padus virginiana is the test 13.The arrangement of various factors in the test and the maintenance management mode of this test can be directly used as the operation instruction for high rate of survival in softwood cutting of padus virginiana.
