The present experiment was conducted to determine effects of dietary cation-anion balance value(DCAB)on growth performance,physicochemical indices of serum and urine,and incidence situation of urolithiasis in cashmere goats.Fifty healthy Liaoning cashmere goats at the age of about 1.5 years and body weight of about 32.5±2.5 kg were selected and randomly divided to 5 groups,each group of 10 goats.DCAB value in different groups was 0,150,300,450,600 mEq/kg DM,respectively.The formal experiment lasted for 105 days.Other conditions were the same,only the diet was different in each group throughout the trial.Blood and urine samples were collected every 15 days to analyze the biochemical indices.Observe the prevalence situation of urolithiasis of cashmere goats and analyze the composition of uroliths.Experimental results show:(1)DCAB had significant influences on average daily feed intake and ratio of feed to gain(P<0.05),but,it had no significant influence on average daily gain(P>0.05).High DCAB value of dietary could improve the average daily feed intake of Liaoning cashmere goats,the ratio of feed to gain and average daily gain showed better values when DCAB value was 150mEq/kgDM.(2)DCAB had significant influences on urea,creatinine,uric acid,potassium,magnesium,calcium,phosphorus and chlorine of serum(P<0.05),but,it had no significant influence on sodium and sulfur of serum(P>0.05).The contents of urea,creatinine and magnesium of serum increase with the increasing of DCAB level,calcium content decrease.The content of urea in serum was low and fluctuating within a small range,and the creatinine content was relatively constant when DCAB value was 150 mEq/kg DM.(3)DCAB had significant influences on urea,creatinine,uric acid,sodium,potassium,magnesium,calcium and chlorine of urinary(P<0.05),but,it had no significant influence on phosphorus and sulfur of urinary(P>0.05).The contents of sodium,potassium and pH in urinary increase with the increasing of DCAB value,conductivity decrease.At the DCAB levels of 300,450,600 mEq/kg DM,the urinary potassium,magnesium,calcium,phosphoruscontents and conductivity decrease,but pH increase with the increase of feeding time.(4)The experimental goats were suffered from urolithiasis at the DCAB values of 300,450,600 mEq/kg DM,the main compositions of urolith were magnesium ammonium phosphate(MAP).The above indicators can be concluded that feeding the diets with DCAB value greater than or equal to 300 mEq/kg DM for a long time can cause urolithiasis of cashmere goats.Dietary DCAB value of 0-150 mEq/kg DM are beneficial to best performance and maintain the biochemical indicator of serum and urinary,and prevent urolithiasis disease of Liaoning cashmere goats.
