Research On The Production Efficiency Of Different Scales Of Live Pig Breeding In Hebei Province From The Perspective Of Cost And Benefit

The Ministry of Agriculture issued the “National National Pig Production Development Plan(2016-2020)”on April 18,2016,which is the guiding document for the development of China's pig breeding industry during the 13 th Five-Year Plan period.One of the main tasks proposed in this policy is to develop moderate-scale breeding of pigs and to clarify that Hebei Province is a key development area for pig breeding.However,from a realistic point of view,the scale of pig breeding in Hebei Province is still dominated by free-range breeding.For example,in 2017,the proportion of pig breeding in the province is as high as 89.86%,and the scale of pig breeding in Hebei Province needs to be improved.The enthusiasm of farmers,the ability to improve the risk resistance of pig farmers and the progressive realization of the scale of pig farming have become increasingly prominent.The key to solving these problems is to solve the "scale" choice problem that the Hebei provincial government and pig producers will face.This requires a reasonable scale selection from the current situation of the pig breeding industry in Hebei Province.Based on the relationship between scale and the cost and benefit of pig breeding,this paper analyzes the production efficiency of different pig breeding scales in Hebei Province by means of quantitative analysis,so as to further accelerate the process of large-scale breeding of pigs in Hebei Province and realize the pig breeding industry.The transformation and upgrading will provide decision-making reference for the government to introduce relevant policies to promote the scale of pig breeding and producers to make reasonable scale selection,and will also help to enrich the research results in this field.Therefore,the research in this paper has practical and theoretical significance.In order to further promote the large-scale breeding of pigs in Hebei Province,this paper obtains first-hand information through data collection,and on the basis of relevant literature,the first part introduces the research background and significance,research methods,innovations and inadequacies of this paper.And a literature review related to the cost and benefit of live pigs;The second part defines the related concepts of cost and benefit and production efficiency,and summarizes the related theories about cost and benefit of Marxist political economics and Western economics;The third part describes the basic situation of pigbreeding industry and breeding scale in Hebei Province,and analyzes the changes in the cost and components of pig breeding industry in Hebei Province and the changes in the income of pig breeding;The fourth part,using the data of the cost and benefit of pig breeding in Hebei Province from 2005 to 2017,the specific analysis of the changes in the cost and income of pigs of different scales;In the fifth part,according to the data of the cost and benefit of hog in2017,the DEA model is used to compare and analyze the overall production efficiency of pigs of different scales,and the production efficiency rankings of different scales are obtained,and pigs of different regions under the same scale are also produced.The comparative analysis of the production efficiency of aquaculture yields the limiting factors of production efficiency;Finally,the conclusions are summarized and the policy recommendations for promoting large-scale breeding of pigs in Hebei Province are proposed from the government,professional cooperatives or “leading enterprises + farmers” and pig producers.The possible innovations in this paper are mainly in the following aspects: Firstly,in the existing literature,from the perspective of cost and benefit,there are few literatures on the production efficiency of pig breeding in Hebei Province.Secondly,the existing literature uses a certain method,such as the comparison method in different years or data envelopment analysis method,to study the above problems.In this paper,comparative analysis and data envelope analysis are used to make up for the shortcomings of a single research method;Thirdly,the existing literature tends to study the relevant data of pig farming on a whole,which weakens the characteristics of different scales.Based on the overall analysis,this paper further studies the production efficiency of different areas under a certain scale,and analyses the specific factors that restrict the comprehensive efficiency of each scale.
