Cost And Return Of Potato Planting In Hebei Province And Efficiency Studies

With the advancement of China's potato stapled grain strategy,the status of potato production in food supply is becoming more and more important.China's grain production has gradually formed a new pattern of coordinated development of potato and rice,corn and wheat.In recent years,Hebei Province has actively promoted the development of the potato industry,and Hebei Province has become increasingly prominent as the main potato producing area in China.However,the situation that the potato production efficiency in Hebei Province is not high and continues to decline has become an obstacle to the further development of the potato industry.The purpose of this paper is to analyze the cost and benefit of potato production in Hebei Province,to reveal the reasons for the low efficiency and continuous decline of potato production in Hebei Province,and to explore ways to increase income and increase efficiency in potato production.Based on this,this paper studies the following aspects:The first is to analyze the status of potato production in Hebei Province from three aspects: production scale,production structure and production efficiency.Second,between Hebei Province and the three main staples,and between different production areas,different production entities and different planting modes.The cost and benefit of potato were compared and analyzed.The third is the comparison of the cost-benefit components of Hebei Province and the other six major potato producing provinces.The analysis found that its own advantages and disadvantages.The fourth is to adopt the data envelopment analysis method for potato production in Hebei Province.The longitudinal trend characteristics of input-output efficiency changes are studied.The fifth is to propose specific countermeasures to improve the efficiency of potato in Hebei Province.By using the DEA data envelopment method,structural analysis method,comparative analysis method,literature research method,and using the annual survey data and specific survey data,combined with the intuitive feelings obtained during the actual research visit,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)Compared with the three main staples,the economic benefits of potato planting in Hebei Province are higher now;the economic benefits of the second-season cropping area are higher than that of the first-season cropping area;the degree of integration of production organization,the investment volume of plastic film facilities and economic benefits are positively correlated.(2)Compared with other major producing provinces,the overall efficiency of potato production in Hebei Province was lower than that in other provinces,and the overall situation was at a disadvantage.(3)In 2011-2013,the input-output efficiency is relatively high,and the input is almost in an optimal state.However,after 2014,various inputs have different degrees of redundancy,and the input-output efficiency has decreased significantly,indicating that Hebei has been in recent years.Potato production in the province is in urgent need of reducing costs and increasing production,rather than blindly adding factor inputs.(4)To improve the efficiency of potato production,it is necessary to upgrade the production structure,transform the traditional production mode,and develop a large-scale and intensive business model.The innovation of this paper lies in:(1)From the perspective of research,the article adopts the macroscopic perspective of yield-based and the micro-perspective of benefit-oriented analysis,comprehensively explores the efficiency of input and output,and promotes the development of potato industry in Hebei Province.(2)In the application of the method,an analytical method combining quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis is adopted.In the process of inter-provincial cost-benefit comparison,the data description method was used to qualitatively find the superiority and disadvantage of competition in potato production in Hebei Province.In the process of input-output efficiency research,the DEA measurement model was used to quantitatively analyze the input and output efficiency of potato in Hebei Province.(3)The data used in the data acquisition is detailed and novel.The paper uses the statistical yearbook data of potato production in Hebei Province and the survey data obtained in the form of field visits to ensure that the data can truly reflect the current situation of potato cost and benefit in Hebei Province.
