In China,the researches of artificial cultivation of Cordyceps militaris can be traced back to 1986.With constant further researches on C.militaris,artificial cultivation methods have been continuously improved.However,due to the complexity of factors affecting the artificial cultivation of C.militaris,the techniques of artificial cultivation have not been effectively popularized in China at this stage.Illumination is an important environmental factor that has an important influence on the growth and development of C.militaris.Therefore,it is of great significance to carry out studies on the environmental factors,illumination,of C.militariscultivation in order to improve the yield and quality of C.militaris,as well as promote the commercialization and industrialization of C.militaris.This paper will investigate the effects of environmental factors,such as light quality,light intensity,and illumination time,on the growth and development of C.militaris.The main results are as follows:As contrasted with fluorescent light,cultivated C.militaris under blue light,red light,green light and yellow light,to research the effects of different light qualities on the growth conditions and the contents of ergosterol,adenosine and polysaccharide of C.militaris.The results indicated that the ergosterol contents of C.militaris under yellow light condition were the highest;the quantities of spores produced by C.militaris under white light condition were relatively high;the polysaccharide contents of C.militaris under green light condition were relatively high.Under blue light condition,the proportion of rod-like sporophores of C.militaris was as high as 90 percent;the quantities of spores were a little bit higher than that under white light condition;and the adenosine contents were also relatively high.Under red light condition,the quantities of fruiting body were the lowest one and their colors were the lightest,close to white;the quantities of spores were the lowest;the adenosine contents were the highest.Under the light with several light qualities,the sporophores of C.militaris were mostly spike like;the polysaccharide contents of C.militaris were the highest and the the ergosterol contents were relatively high as well,while the adenosine contents were the lowest.2.C.militaris was cultivated under the conditions of blue light,red light,green light,yellow light,and natural light(control group),to determine the oxygen contents in the bottles of C.militaris under different light conditions.The results showed that,with the increase of cultivation time,the oxygen contents in the bottles of C.militaris cultivated under blue light condition showed an increasing trend.The oxygen contents in the bottles of C.militaris cultivated under red light condition showed a decreasing trend.The oxygen contents in the bottles of C.militaris cultivated under natural light condition steadily slightly increased.The oxygen contents in the bottles of C.militaris cultivated under white and green light conditions showed no obvious change.3.The stromata of C.militaris and Pupa Bombycis Batryticatus(which was culture medium)cultivated under blue light condition and natural light condition were observed by stereomicroscope and anatomical lens to research the effects of blue light on the microscopic structures of C.militaris.The observation results indicated that the stromata of C.militaris irradiated with blue light were more curled and there were more hollow parts inside.The diameters of hyphae ofC.militaris were shorter than those under natural light condition,and their colors were more vivid.As for the Pupa Bombycis Batryticatus,the epidermis was partially or completely covered with hyphae.The epidermis was hard,and the colors inside were gradually deepened from the outer to the inner,showing solidified shape.Microscopic observations showed that the hyphae of Pupa Bombycis Batryticatus grew in length from the inner to the outer,and were shorter and lighter in color than those of stromata.There was no significant difference between the internal hyphae of Pupa Bombycis Batryticatus of C.militaris under blue light condition and natural light condition.4.C.militarisof Antheraea pernyi Geurin Meneville was cultivated with different intensities of blue light at different lengths of time,to research the effects of the light intensity and light duration of blue light on the growth and carotene content of stromata of C.militaris.The results indicated that,at the beginning of cultivation,the blue light with light intensity of about 50 lx and the photic stimulation on C.militaris at 13h/d could facilitate the growth of stromata.In the middle period of cultivation,the blue light with light intensity of about 200 lx and the photic stimulation on C.militarisat 13 h / d could facilitate the growth of stromata.At the later stage of cultivation,the blue light with light intensity of 800 lx and the photic stimulation on C.militaris at about 11 h/d could facilitate the growth of stromata.Under the condition of blue light,it was most conducive to the synthesis and accumulation of carotenoids when the light intensity was 308.37 lx and the light duration was 10.60h/d.Changes in light intensity and light duration both had effects on the growth of stromata of C.militaris to a certain degree.In order to ensure the synthesis of carotenoids and the increase of yield,C.militaris should be given appropriate intensities and time lengths of light.
