| To explore the cultivation model of seedless watermelon in Wuling mountain area.We carried out the experiment with"snowflake seedless",a seedless watermelon cultivar,as the test material to study the effects of different methods of fertilization,fertilizer types(long-term slow-release special fertilizer,traditional compound fertilizer)and the different cultivation densities on seedless watermelon.The differences in single melon weight,yield,quality of seedless watermelons that planted in open field and their profit status were compared among different cultivation modes.We have explored that the cultivation of seedless watermelon with 200 plants/667m~2 planting density is the optimal simplified open-air cultivation model when the long-term special fertilizer was applied for one-time and without pruning.The main results are as follows:1 The fruit set rate of seedless watermelon with long-term and slow-release fertilizer treatment was the highest,while the yield of individual plant was similar under the other treatments;Compared with the watermelon that without fertilizer and with traditional compound fertilizer treatment,the single fruit weight of the watermelon that treated with long-term and slow-release special fertilizer for one time was improved by 90.48%and by24.11%respectively.The yield of watermelons treated with long-term and slow-release fertilizer for one time was 143.14%higher than that of non-fertilization and 51.58%higher than that of traditional compound fertilizer treatment.When the long-term and slow-release special fertilizer is used as the base fertilizer,there is no additional fertilizer needed during the whole growth period.Therefore,the fertilization operation is simplified and the labor cost is reduced.It is suitable for the simplified and open-aired watermelon cultivation。2 Compared the four cultivation densities treatments,150 plants/667m~2,200plants/667m~2,300 plants/667m~2,450 plants/667m~2,there is no difference in the quality(including central sugar content)of seedless watermelon planted in the open air,under the condition of without pruning.The weight of single fruit treated with different planting densities showed a decreasing trend with increasing density,when the planting density was150 plants/667m~2,the weight of single fruit reaches maximum,which was significantly higher than that of other density treatments.The yield increases first and then decreases as the density increases.The yield of the 200 plants/667m~2 treatment was the highest,significantly higher than that of 150 plants/667m~2 and 450 plants/667m~2 treatments.However,there is no significant difference in central sugar content among them.Compared with the current farmers’conventional planting density(450 plants/667m~2)treatment,the yield of the 200 plants/667m~2 treatment was increased by 14.68%,the seedling fee was reduced by 4,500 yuan/hm~2,and the income increased by 12,150.36 yuan/hm~2.The comprehensive yield and economic benefits were the best. |
