Ancient tree health diagnosis and evaluation is the basis for scientifically formulating ancient tree protection programs.In this study,the TRU tree radar non-invasive detection technology was used to detect the air rot status and root distribution of 28 ancient Platycladus orientalis trunks in Fuxi Temple,Tianshui City,Gansu Province.Established including tree potential,tree shape,branch extension,tree tip and upper branch apex loss,lower branch apex loss,branch or trunk damage,branch leaf density,leaf bud size,leaf color,bark damage degree,tree Evaluation index system for the growth of the aboveground part of the ancient Platycladus orientalis of the skin metabolism,bud sprouting and other factors,Investigate the growth of the aboveground part of the ancient Platycladus orientalis;Based on the comprehensive noninvasive detection and the above-ground growth of the ancient Platycladus orientalis,the health status of the ancient Platycladus orientalis was evaluated,The main findings are as follows::(1)There are 28 ancient Platycladus orientalis trunks in Fuxi Temple with different degrees of empty rot.,including 21 mild rots,6 moderate rots,and 1 severe rot;The empty rot of the trunk mainly appears in the 80 cm part of the trunk,showing a tendency to decrease with the height of the trunk,The degree of empty rot of the trunk has a significant influence on the growth of the aboveground part of the old tree,which is one of the main factors leading to the weakening of the tree.The results of the investigation on the growth status of the aboveground parts showed that 4 plants were in good growth condition,generally 17 strains,6 plants were weak,and 1 plant died.(2)In the depth range of 0-100 cm soil layer,the roots of Platycladus orientalis are concentrated in the range of 40-60 cm soil layer,and the horizontal distribution is concentrated in the radius of 2 m from the base of the trunk,showing a uniform distribution.(3)The results of investigations on the growth status of the aboveground parts showed that there were 4 strains with good growth conditions,17 strains in general,6 strains in weakness,and 1 strain on the verge of death.(4)The comprehensive TRU tree radar judges the non-destructive detection of ancient tree trunks,roots and the above-ground growth of ancient trees.The established evaluation and classification method of ancient trees can evaluate the health of ancient Platycladus orientalis in detail and accurately.The health status of ancient trees is divided into five levels,namely,very healthy,sub-healthy,generally healthy,unhealthy and on the verge of death.The evaluation results showed that the health status of fuxi ancient Platycladus orientalis was divided into 9 sub-healthy species(32.14%),17 healthy species(60.71%)and 2 unhealthy species(7.15%).(5)Based on the diagnosis and evaluation of the above-mentioned ancient Platycladus orientalis health,Measures to protect and rejuvenate ancient Platycladus orientalis in fuxi temple were put forward.
