'Nongguo 4'and'Nongguo 25'are apple superior strains which are selected.by the research group of Professor Zhao Zhengyang from the College of Horticulture,Northwest A&F University.using the method of crossbreeding After years of observation in the filed these two superior strains perform pretty well.In order to better understanding the characteristics of these apple superior strains and lay a good foundation for the new variety certification.These two apple apple superior strains were systematically investigated in2018 with'Jinshiji','Yuhuazaofu','Qinfu 1'and'Cripps Pink'as controlled varieties.The study mainly researched the phenology period,the botanical traits,main agronomic traits,economic traits,storage quality and stress resistance.The main results are as follows:1.'Nongguo 4'is the hybrid of'Gala'and'Fuji'.Its main features are as follows:It matures in late September,170 days after flowering,it belongs to mid-late maturity varieties;the fruit is medium size,the weights of it is 194.5 g,the shape of the fruit is conical,the fruit shape index is 0.90,the color of the surface is red and the background is yellow;fruit soluble solid content is 15.7%and titratable acid content is 0.41%,these index are higher than the control varieties'Jinshiji'and'Yuhuazaofu',the taste is sweet with little sour;the fruit hardness is 7.562 kg/cm~2,it is harder than controlled varieties,the flesh is fine,crisp,juicy,fruity,and of good quality;the fruit could keep great qualities after long period of storage and transportation,and after stored at 0°C for 120 days the fruit hardness is 7.042 kg/cm~2,the tree have resistance to field powdery mildew and brown spot disease,and the ability of cold resistance is much better than'Jinshiji'variety.2.'Nongguo 25'is the hybrid of'Cripps Pink'and'Qinfu 1'.Its main features are as follows:It matures in late October,185 days after flowering,it belongs to late maturity varieties;the fruit is medium size,the average weight is 197.2 g,the shape of the fruit is cylindrical and the fruit shape index is 0.98,the color of the surface is red and the background is yellow-green,the color of it is bright and the appearance qualitise are excellent;fruit soluble solid content is16.7%,it is significantly higher than the control varieties,The titratable acid content is 0.36%,the taste is sweet with a little sour;the fruit hardness is 8.612 kg/cm~2,the flesh is hard and brittle,juicy,fruity and of good quality;the tree have resistance to field powdery mildew and brown spot disease,and the ability of cold resistance is much better than'Cripps Pink'variety.It can be stored until the second year of May at 0°C,after 120 days,the hardness is 7.124 kg/cm~2,the soluble solids content is 17.6%,the titratable acid content is 0.23%,and it still has good fruit quality.It has good adaptability in different area of the Loess Plateau,it have good qualities especially in Baishui,Fuping and Xunyi county.
