The lawn mower volute is the housing of the lawn mower.Because it looks like a snail shell,it is usually called a volute.It is easy to cut stones,stumps and other hidden sundries in the grass with the blade rotating at medium and high speed.They are thrown out under the huge impact of the blade and cast on the volute of the mower.If the spiral case does not have enough impact resistance,the thrown debris will break through the spiral case,which may impact on people and cause injury events,especially the failure probability of the spiral case of the lawn mower under the low temperature state is higher.At present,there are very few people studying this low temperature state.Through the discussion and research on the customer's abnormal temperature state state of 5? requirements,we can find the volute design and material selection to meet the customer's requirements.The specific research contents are as follows:1.Based on the PC platform,the geometry model of mower volute is built by Creo software,and the one to one three-dimensional volute model with three kinds of wall thickness is established.2.Combined with ANSYS stress software,the impact stress analysis of two materials on three kinds of wall thickness volute is carried out,and the optimal volute design and material selection are obtained.3.Mold design analysis of the mower volute by Moldflow software.4.According to the requirements of the standard,a steel ball testing laboratory which can meet the requirements of 5? environmental test is made.5.Injection molding of the mower volute mold,obtaining physical samples,assembling into a complete machine,and performing impact test in a 5? steel ball test laboratory.Through the physical verification,the spiral case model and material selection can meet the impact requirements of 5? environment,the test results are consistent with the theoretical analysis,and successfully solve the problem of spiral case design in the non temperature state.The practice also proves that this design optimization process can provide assistance and reference at the beginning of design,reduce the repetition in the later stage of product,and effectively reduce the time and cost of the whole product development process.This method can also provide reference for other similar products.
