Mechanized operation is an important feature of modern forestry development.Artificial forest tending and harvesting operations have complex operating environment,high cost consumption,difficult operation,and various safety hazards.In the course of technical development,practical teaching and engineering training,the laboratory cannot carry out relevant teaching and practice.In this paper,using virtual reality means,according to the modern forestry mechanized tending and harvesting national standards,based on Unity3 D developed artificial forest tending and harvesting operations virtual simulation experiment system.The main research contents of the paper are as follows:First of all,according to the production practice of tending and harvesting of planted forests,and based on the modular design idea,it is clear that the manual linking of the five links of clearing forest cutting,tending thinning,fixed-length timber,aggregate collection,and biomass collection are connected in series.The process of forest tending;through the analysis of system development requirements,the system development framework with Unity3 D as the main simulation tool is determined.Secondly,study a series of key technologies developed by the virtual simulation system for tending and harvesting of planted forests,including virtual scene development technology centered on the Terrain component of Unity3D;build a mechanical model through 3Ds Max and import it into Unity3 D to realize the wheeled chassis and crawler chassis walking Simulation technology of artificial forest tending equipment such as simulation,hydraulic manipulator motion simulation,cutting head attitude control and other kinematics simulation;tending and harvesting operation simulation technology based on key frame animation,hinge joints,and model cutting algorithms.Realize the modular design of each system.Then,according to the requirements of the software system,use My SQL to develop the database of the system;use UGUI technology to develop the UI framework;use visual resources,audio technology and particle systems to complete the integrated development of the system;publish the developed software system to PC and Web Perform performance testing on the platform;propose optimization strategies such as object buffer pools for CPU and memory consumption issues.Finally,according to the developed system,we designed a virtual simulation experiment program that combines "online and offline" serving engineering practice teaching,using hardware resources such as somatosensory platform and three-channel projection platform to build an "offline" immersive simulation operating environment.Combining practical application cases of forestry engineering experiment teaching to verify the feasibility of this scheme.According to research,analysis and testing,the virtual simulation experiment system for the tending and harvesting operation of planted forests developed in this paper restores the operation process of mechanized tending equipment.Based on this system,the teaching scheme of combining “online and offline” can reduce the training cost,Avoiding experimental risks,improving teaching quality and efficiency,and having certain practical value for technical development and practical training in related fields.
