Objectives:To study the correlations among the 25-hydroxyvitamin D,vascular endothelial growth factor and soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 in peritoneal dialysis patients, and to investigate the impact of 25-hydroxyvitamin D on the vascular endothelial function of peritoneal dialysis patients. Methods:Between October 2016 and October 2017,based on the criteria of inclusion and exclusion,Seventy-seven patients who underwent peritoneal dialysis for more than three months, age eighteen to eighty and thirty-four healthy people matched with age and gender of peritoneal dialysis patients were selected and acute myocardial infarction, severe heart failure, arrhythmia, combined with active inflammation or severe infection, pregnancy, malignancies, connective tissue disease, severe hepatic insufficiency, the last six months received the treatment of immunosuppressive agents, kidney transplant, nearly six months taking statins and nearly three months taking active vitamin D or analogues were excluded.25-hydroxyvitamin D,VEGF,and sVCAM-1 were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Diagnostic criteria for vitamin D levels according to the K/DOQI guidelines,The values of 25(OH)D of the patients with peritoneal dialysis were divided into group C(25(OH)D ? 20ng/ml,including normal and insufficient vitamin D),and group D(25(OH)D<20ng/ml,including vitamin D deficiency and severe deficiency).Compare the level of 25(OH)D,VEGF and sVCAM-1 between peritoneal dialysis and health group, group C and group D.Results:1.25(OH)D level of health group was higher than that of peritoneal dialysis group, were 37.63±9.46ng/ml vs 19.26±6.65ng/ml,(P<0.05),VEGF,sVCAM-1 of health group was obviously lower than those of peritoneal dialysis group, were 109.08±17.37pg/ml vs 151.94±25.94pg/ml and 5.12±0.73ng/ml vs 8.19±1.81ng/ml(P<0.05).2.The deficient ratio of 25(OH)D was 63.64%in peritoneal dialysis patients. The level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D in group C and group D was 26.61±4.41ng/ml,15.05±3.08ng/ml,and the difference between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.The serum VEGF and sVCAM-1 in group D were higher than those of group C,the levels were(140.52±23.96pg/ml vs 158.46±24.96pg/ml,6.76±1.11ng/ml vs 9.01±1.62ng/ml),and the difference between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).4.VEGF was negatively correlated with 25(OH)D.Multivariate linear stepwise regression analysis showed that VEGF was independently associated with 25(OH)D.sVCAM-1 was negatively correlated with 25(OH)D.Multivariate linear stepwise regression analysis showed that sVCAM-1 was independently associated with 25(OH)D.Conclusions:1.25(OH)D level of peritoneal dialysis group was obviously lower than that of health group, and there was a general lack of it.2.In peritoneal dialysis patient,25(OH)D was negatively correlated with VEGF and sVCAM-1,and it's suggested that 25-hydroxyvitamin D deficience may be one of mechanisms on endothelial dysfunction in peritoneal dialysis patients.
