Investigation And Selection Of Versions Of Ancient Books On Health Care In Chinese Medical Canon

The ancient books of traditional Chinese medicine contain a large number of theories and experiences of prevention and treatment of diseases,which is an important carrier of academic inheritance of traditional Chinese medicine and a treasure house of original knowledge in China.In recent years,great progress has been made in the protection of traditional Chinese medicine ancient books since the implementation of the "Chinese Ancient Books Protection Plan".The compilation of Chinese Medical Canon,as a work for the protection,inheritance and utilization of ancient books of traditional Chinese medicine,has recently been included in the" Chinese Ancient Books Protection Plan ".Its main work is to select more than 2000 books from among the ancient books of traditional Chinese medicine with historical relics,academic materials and artistic representativeness and photocopy them.Every book has to write a summary.The book is divided into four parts(including the medical volume of ethnic minorities),which is the largest investigation of traditional Chinese medicine books since the founding of the people's Republic of China and the photocopy and publication project of the original book.The ancient books of traditional Chinese medicine are full of history.They have been circulating for a long time,and the version is complicated.In order to make the selected books reach the best in both types and versions,investigation and selection of the ancient books become an indispensable and important work in Chinese Medical Canon.This article takes the Chinese medical collection of health-care ancient books as the research object,conducts a bibliographic and version investigation on the literature in the Chinese medical collection of health-care ancient books,and selects the best version of each ancient book.The selection of photocopies of health-care literature in Chinese Medical Canon provides support,so that the fine-quality health-care literature can be regeneratively protected and transmitted,and it also provides literature support for mining health-care methods and technologies.ObjectiveThrough the bibliographic investigation of the ancient books of health of the Chinese Medical Canon,and according to the results of the bibliographic survey,the identification and selection of each version of the ancient books,combing the source and inheritance system of the version,and revising and perfecting the version description in the General Catalogue of Chinese Ancient Books of Traditional Chinese Medicine,in order to provide reference for the photocopy of the ancient books of health of the Chinese Medical Canon.Methods and ContentsAnalysis of the Bibliography of Health-keeping Ancient Books and Selection of Representative Health-keeping Ancient BooksAccording to reference books such as General Catalogue of Chinese Ancient Books of Traditional Chinese Medicine,the author makes statistics on each version of the ancient books collected in the category of Chinese Medical Canon,the age and type of the version,the distribution of the second-class objects,the information about the distribution of the collection,the number of circulating versions,the situation of the isolated books and the collection of the ancient books in the series and Dao Zang.This paper analyzes and clarifies the development context and evolution trajectory of each ancient book version,and then provides a reference for the orderly development of field research to ensure the accuracy of research.In combination with the contents of ancient books and the general situation of the version,the existing version of more,more included in the series of books,the history of the more influential ancient books were investigated,found the following problems:?Existing books with different names.The book type needs to be reviewed.?The earliest versions of ancient books may be hidden in a series of books,and research on the first or early prints of each ancient book is required.?The lack of the number of volumes affects the reading of the book.Considering that there are a large number of 74 health-care ancient book versions in the primary catalogue of Chinese Medical Canon and the collections are widely distributed,the selection is based on the richness of the ancient book content from the aspects of book type review,version verification,and book supplement.Investigated and selected 10 kinds of representative ancient books for health preservation,which are "Wan Shou Xian Shu","Wan Yu Xian Shu","A New Book on Life Preservation and Longevity","The Book of Yanglao Fengqin","The Book of Eldly and Children's Health Care","The Book of San Yuan Can Zan Yan Shou","Four Health Essentials","Yang Sheng Lei Zuan","ZunSheng Thought".Investigation of the representative ancient books of the Chinese Medical CanonBased on the bibliographic survey results,the collection of all the existing versions of the 10 representative health-keeping books(including the version of the series in which they are located)was collected,and field investigations were carried out.Use each library's in-house query system to search the version information of each ancient book and its series again,and check the version information of the bibliographic survey with the collection version information to ensure that each version is not missed.The field investigation reflects the existence of the ancient books of the health class,the version verification of each ancient book,the detailed examination of the book products,and the examination of the book types,and the contents of the original books of each ancient book(such as prefaces,post cards,table of contents,text,appendices,etc.)and book imprinting conditions(such as layout,style,font,engraver,printing,bookbinding,etc.),register bibliographic information for all existing versions of each ancient book(with the "Bibliographic Information Survey Form").Record and save important content by means of copying or taking photos.Secondly,use bibliography,philology and other methods to analyze the source and system of each ancient book and its different versions,screen the most intact version of each representative ancient book to provides reference for photocopying the ancient books.And during the field investigation,a certain degree of revision was made to the imperfect description information of the "General Catalogue of Chinese Ancient BooksResults(1)There are 74 kinds of ancient books in the primary list of Chinese Medicine Canon.The dynasties with the largest number of books were:30 in the Ming Dynasty,22 in the Qing Dynasty,9 in the Yuan Dynasty,7 in the Tang Dynasty,5 in the Song Dynasty,and 1 in the Northern and Southern Dynasties.The distribution of versions is:2 kinds in Yuan Dynasty;44 species in Ming Dynasty;27 species in Qing Dynasty;Version date unknown to be tested 1;The version types are:2 manuscripts,2 copies,70 Block-printed books;There are 61 kinds of general theory of health maintenance and 13 kinds of Guidance and Qigong.The collection site of all versions include National library of China,library in China academy of Chinese Medical Science,Shanghai Library,library in Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences,library in Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Nanjing library and so on;The large number of version is the library in the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences,with up to 72 editions,followed by the Shanghai Library,library in Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,and the National Library.The number of versions is over 30,and the books of library in Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,library in Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Nanjing Library,library in Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,library of Chinese Medical Association Shanghai Branch,Suzhou University Medical School Library,Capital Library,all of which have the number of collections more than 10 versions.A total of 38 libraries with more than 5 versions of collections;There are books with more versions in circulation,such as "A New Book on Life Preservation and Longevity","Zun Sheng Ba Jian","Yi Jin Jing","Health Essentials","Shou Shi Qing Bian","Chinese and Foreign Health Essentials","Xing Ming Gui Zhi","Tai Ding Yang Sheng Zhu Lun","Lao Lao Heng Yan","Wan Yu Xian Shu","Yang Sheng Lei Zuan","The Book of San Yuan Can Zan Yan Shou","Xiu Zhen Mi Yao","Yi Xian","Wan Shou Xian Shu","Tian Yin Zi","The Book of Yanglao Fengqin","Yang Sheng Yue Lan" and so on.Among them,"A New Book on Life Preservation and Longevity" is the most popular book with 22 versions.There are some books have more than 10 circulating versions,such as "Zun Sheng Ba Jian","Yi Jin Jing","Health Essentials","Shou Shi Qing Bian","Chinese and Foreign Health Essentials",and "Xing Ming Gui Zhi".The unique work,including "Sun Simiao Health Preservation In Tang Dynasty","Sun Zhenren's Health Preservation","Cun Shen Lian Qi Ming","Yang Sheng Bian Yi Jue",etc.Most of them have been included in "Dao Zang","Dao Zang Essence Records","Dao Zang Ju Yao" "Shuo Fu" and other series.(2)The use of bibliography,the study of edition and other methods to carry out version surveys and source stream combing of 10 representative health-care medical books.?The entire contents of "Wan Shou Xian Shu" are all from the book "Wan Yu Xian Shu".The book is not original.In the past,this book was mistakenly regarded as the same book as "Wan Yu Xian Shu".It is recommended to exclude this book from the primary selection list.?The content of the upper volume of the The Book of Eldly and Children's Health Care is "The Book of Yanglao Fengqin"and the content of the next volume is for pediatric evidence rather than health care.Therefore,it is recommended to remove it from the preliminary selection list;A supplementary version was issued based on the " The Book of Yanglao Fengqin",but "A New Book on Life Preservation and Longevity" is widely circulated because of its rich content and excellent collation.The reprint of the Xixia Kuiwen Academy of Literature in 1576 of the Ming Dynasty was the best-preserved older version.The version has a certain artistic quality,so it is recommended to keep this book in the primary selection list.?The first version of "The Book of San Yuan Can Zan Yan Shou" written in General Catalogue of Chinese Ancient Books of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a block-printed books in Yuan Dynasty.Through investigation,it is found that this version does not exist.?The earliest version of "Four Essentials of Health" was not published in a single-line version,but was written in the book of the "Wan Shi Quan Shu".The earliest known version is the Wanda version of the Shunzhi Emperor in Qing Dynasty from 11 to 16 years,but it is lost.The version of "Four Essentials of Health" of Zhang Tanyi inscription Wan Mi Zhai's book in the year of 1712 is based on the version of ShunZhi Emperor in Qing Dynasty Wanda inscription,which was ordered by Hanyang Hemei Zhang Bozhen,and his son Zhang Tanyi republished this book in Shilvtang during the reign of Kangxi Emperor.After about 70 years to 43 years of the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty,their grandchildren Zhang Renda and Zhang Renzuo saw a lot of engravings.So they reissued the version of Shilvtang.The version of Yongzheng Emperor in Qing Dynasty,Qianlong Emperor in 1741,Kangxi Emperor in Qing Dynasty in the year of Guimao and Ming Dynasty in Fuwentang may be the same,which is in the 2nd year of the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty carved by the Tongren Hall of Wan Mi Zhai Medicine in Jinxi Hulue Qingweitang.The engraved version of Zhongxintang in the 43rd year of the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty is based on the two editions of the Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty and the Emperor Yongzheng of Qing Dynasty.It is pocket and exquisite.?Due to the unknown registration of the original collection units,the General Catalogue of Chinese Ancient Books of Traditional Chinese Medicine contains 2 separate versions in the same version,which are the version carved by Sun Chengming in 1604 about the Wanli Emperor in Ming Dynasty and the version carved by Han Xuge in 1611 about the Wanli Emperor in Ming Dynasty.?The book of "Yang Sheng Lei Zuan",which has 2 torn vesions carved by Xie Jiong in Chenghua Emperor in Ming Dynasty were hidden in Tsinghua University Library and Bayannaoer City Library.Actually,they are the parts of the same book.?The "Zun Sheng Ba Jian" has two version systems:"Yashangzhai Zun Sheng Ba Jian" and "Xianxueju Reordering Zun Sheng Ba Jian"."Yashangzhai Zun Sheng Ba Jian" was published earlier,but it is not widely circulated.Later versions are mainly based on "Xianxueju Reordering Zun Sheng Ba Jian",which has a wide range of circulation.ConclusionThere are 74 kinds of health care ancient books in primary catalog of Chinese Medical Canon.This article has conducted a bibliographic survey of health care ancient books in the primary catalog and a survey of 10 representative versions of ancient books.The following conclusions have been reached:(1)The 74 kinds of health care ancient books in the primary catalog of Chinese Medical Canon,most of the ancient books were written during the Ming and Qing Dynasties,and the version typies were block-printed and they mostly concentrated at this time.The version's collection area involves 100 places.More than five existing versions of the "The Book of Eldly and Children's Health Care","The Book of San Yuan Can Zan Yan Shou",and "Yang Sheng Lei Zuan" have been included in two or more books and have been widely circulated.There are 16 kinds of unique works,including "Sun Simiao Health Preservation In Tang Dynasty","Sun Zhenren's Health Preservation","Cun Shen Lian Qi Ming","Yang Sheng Bian Yi Jue" and so on.(2)According to the bibliographical research,representative ancient books of health-preserving nature are selected,which are "Hou Sheng Xun Zuan","Wan Shou Xian Shu","Wan Yu Xian Shu","The Book of San Yuan Can Zan Yan Shou","Four Health Essentials","Yang Sheng Lei Zuan","The Book of Yanglao Fengqin","A New Book on Life Preservation and Longevity","The Book of Eldly and Children's Health Care","ZunSheng Thought".Comparing the existing versions,and selected the earliest best quality of each ancient book as the recommended photocopy version.That is "The Book for the Elderly and C hildren's Health Care" carved by Hu Wenhuan in Wenhuitang in 1603,"A New Book on Life Preservation and Longevity "reprinted in Xixia Academy of Literature in 1576,"Wan Yu Xian Shu" carved by Lu Jiagu in Tianjue Tang in the period of Ming Dynasty," The Book of San Yuan Can Zan Yan Shou "collected in Dao Zang in the period of Ming Dynasty,"Four Health Essentials "carved by Zhang Tanyi in the place of Shi Lv Tang in 1712,"Hou Sheng Xun Zuan"carved by Sheng Wengao in the place of Han Xu Ge in 1611,"Yang Sheng Lei Zuan" carved by Xie Jiong in the Chenghua Emperor of Ming Dynasty,"ZunSheng Thought" carved in the place of Ya Shang Zhai in the Wanli Emperor of Ming Dynasty.It is suggested that exclude the two ancient books of health preservation that are not suitable for inclusion in the primary catalog of Chinese Medical Canon.(3)The collection of health-care books in the primary catalog of Chinese Medical Canon basically covered the ancient books of health-care classics from various generations,which to some extent reflected the whole picture of the theoretical system of health-care of Chinese medicine.As a major basic academic construction project for systematically rejuvenating Chinese traditional culture,version research and selection are important links that must not be ignored to ensure its compilation quality.
