ObjectiveGastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)is a common and frequently-occurring disease. In Western countries,GERD affects about 1/4 of the population.Although the morbidity of GERD is slightly lower in Asian populations,in recent years, the morbidity of GERD continues to rise, which has greatly affected patients' lives and work efficiency.A considerable number of patients do not respond well to conventional acid suppression and anti-reflux treatments. There is evidence that psychosocial factors and sleep quality play an important role in the pathogenesis of GERD.The purpose of this study was to conduct research on GERD patients and healthy volunteers.A questionnaire survey was conducted to analyze the relationship between GERD,psycho-psychological factors, and sleep quality, and to provide a reference for clinical treatament.MethodsA total of 143 questionnaires were collected, including 71 patients with GERD and 72 healthy volunteers.PSQI and HADS questionnaire surveys were performed on GERD patients and healthy volunteers, and GERD symptoms score questionnaire was performed on patients.Data analysis was performed by SPSS 25.0 statistics software.ResultsThere were no significant differences in age and gender between the two groups(P>0.05),and they were comparable. There were significant differences in the anxiety score, depression score, positive anxiety ratio,PSQI score and PSQI grade data between GERD patients and healthy volunteers(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the positive data of depression between the two groups(P>0.05).Among GERD patients, there was a correlation between the symptom severity score and the anxiety score, depression score, and PSQI score(P<0.05),and the R value was between 0.3 and 0.7,which was moderate to low. There was a correlation between daytime symptom score and anxiety, depression, and PSQI(P<0.05).The R value was between 0.2 and 0.6,which was moderate to low. There was a correlation between nocturnal symptom score and anxiety, depression, and PSQI(P<0.05).The R value was between 0.3 and 0.6,showing a moderate to low correlation. In the subgroup analysis of GERD patients, there was no significant difference in the score tests between NERD patients and RE patients(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in anxiety and symptom scores between patients with grade A and B esophagitis(P>0.05);there was a significant difference in depression and PSQI scores(P<0.05).Conclusions1.Compared with healthy volunteers,GERD patients have significantly higher levels of anxiety and depression, and significantly lower sleep quality.2.The severity of symptoms in patients with GERD is positively related to the degree of anxiety and depression, and negatively related to the quality of sleep.
