Objective: To investigate the effect of Maitland joint loosening combined with acupuncture and massage on shoulder pain after stroke. Methods: 80 patients with shoulder pain after stroke admitted to our hospital from August 2017 to July 2019 were randomly divided into control group and observation group according to the random number table method, with 40 patients in each group. The control group was treated with acupuncture and massage, and the observation group was treated with Maitland joint loosening on the basis of the control group. The treatment in both groups was once per day, with one course of treatment lasting 6days and 4 courses of treatment. After treatment,VAS,FMA,Barthel index(MBI),Brunnstrom stage and muscle strength were compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the VAS,FMA,and MBI scores in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P <0.05).There were no significant differences in VAS,FMA,and MBI before treatment between the two groups(P> 0.05).After treatment,VAS,FMA,and MBI were significantly improved compared with those before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).The effect of VAS,FMA and MBI in the observation group was better than that in thecontrol group, and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).There were no significant differences in Brunnstrom stage and muscle strength between the two groups before treatment(P> 0.05).After treatment, the Brunnstrom stage and muscle strength of the two groups were significantly improved compared with those before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).The Brunnstrom stage and muscle strength of the observation group were better than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Combined with acupuncture and massage,Maitland joint loosening surgery is effective in the treatment of shoulder pain after stroke. It can effectively relieve the symptoms of shoulder pain after stroke, change the Brunnstrom stage and muscle strength level of patients, improve the level of shoulder joint function, and improve the daily living ability and quality of life of patients. Therefore,it is worthy of clinical reference and application.
