The testing and training of balance ability is extremely important.The number of groups that need to balance ability testing and training in China is very large.Vision has a great influence on balance ability.With the development of technology,virtual reality technology can facilitate the testing and training of balance ability for different visual situations.Therefore,this study is based on the design and research of VR-based balance ability test and training system.The research is based on the open topic of “National Key Laboratory of Virtual Reality Technology and Systems”.The specific contents and results are as follows:(1)Based on the in-depth understanding of the human body balance principle and the balance ability test method,this study carried out a literature study on the influence of various situational factors on the balance ability with visual input as the main mode of action,combined with the induction of common phenomena.A systematic analysis of other situational factors that may affect balance ability leads to the main situational factors that affect balance ability.The theoretical level is to use VR technology as a tool to study the impact of different situations on balance and the feasibility of using VR technology to balance the exposure of factors.(2)This study explores the effects of different situational factors on balance ability through experiments.The experiment builds the experimental hardware platform with HTC VIVE and Kinect 2.0 as the core,makes full use of the virtual situation rendering ability of VR technology,and uses 3D modeling software and 3D engine to construct the situational elements that affect the balance ability in the virtual situation.The trial required six subjects to observe their balance performance in different contextual factors and to use the balance task completion as a criterion to collect and analyze the test data.Through the analysis of the test results,the four situational factors that have the most significant influence on the balance ability are obtained: space height,space rotation,reference object interference and environmental threats,and the relevant theories of human body balance are verified and improved.(3)Based on the theoretical research results and experimental conclusions of the impact of situation on balance,combined with the characteristics of VR technology,the four scenarios that significantly affect the balance: space height situation,space rotation situation,reference object interference situation and environmental threat situation,The corresponding virtual situation construction method.According to the difference of the balance principle between different situational elements,the attention-guided method of strengthening the influence effect of the situational elements under different situational elements is proposed.The virtual situation construction method proposed in this study helps to improve the influence of different elements on the balance ability under the VR virtual situation,and also provides the design method basis for the virtual scene construction in the subsequent research and application.(4)Based on the research on the influence of situational factors on balance ability and the situational construction method,this study developed a set of VR-based balance ability test and training system through demand analysis,structural design,interaction design and scene design.The system uses VR technology to provide users with a balance of ability testing and training virtual environment with different context elements,combined with the advantages of somatosensory detection technology,through a convenient attitude capture and center of gravity detection to bring a better experience.Through the design practice of balance testing and training system,this study explores the possibility of balancing ability testing and training with the help of VR technology.The design method and practical exploration of this system can provide some reference value for other researchers.
