Negative structure with "bu" and "mei(you)" is a research hot spot and a difficult teaching point. This paper, based on a five-month follow-up investigation about two elementary and one intermediate level Korean students and by the method of longitudinal track, studies the acquisition of negative structure with "bu" and"mei(you)" of the three Korean Students.Qualitatively and quantitatively, this paper describes and analyzes the acquisition of the negative structure with "bu" and"mei(you)" in students' oral language. The first chapter is introduction, including four parts:reasons for picking this topic, theoretical basis, summarization of previous researches, and the research design. In the aspect of theoretical basis, interlanguage theory and the developmental pattern are introduced, especially the dynamic nature of interlanguage and methods of interlanguage studies. The past researches,in the field of ontology, have mainly focused on comparative studies which are related to syntax, semantics and pragmatics. In the field of second language acquisition, error analysis, researches on acquisition orders or developmental sequences, variation research are introduced.Besides, the previous classification frameworks of negative structure with "bu" and "mei(you)" are present. In the aspect of research design,it introduces collection and identification of oral corpus, research projects, methods and thinking modes, etc. The recording of the free conversation lasts for 5 months, each learner has 16 times, about one hour each time. This paper discusses 14 categories of negative structure(9 types of negative structure with "bu" and 5 types of negative structure with "mei")with reference to classification of written corpus, syllabus and our own oral corpus. The second chapter is the horizontal analysis.By using frequency analysis approach,it calculates the usage rates and the correct rates.Meanwhile, the rates of each learner are figured out and it has found that B1/B2/B4/M1/M4 are most commonly used types while the other types only account for a small percentage. The error rates of B1/B2/B4/B7/B9/M1/M4 are high.It reflects that the acquisition of those types is not satisfactory. The third chapter is the vertical analysis. This paper analyzes the developmental condition of every learner.Learner A has used 12 types,Learner B used 4 types and Learner C used 13 types. The recording time(five months)is divided into four stages——the first three stages are teaching periods and the last one is winter holiday period. It calculates every learner's usage rate and accuracy on each period and studies the developmental condition of every learner's acquisition of negative structure. This study shows that the process of second language acquisition is nonlinear mode and fluctuates in diverse degrees, the interlanguage system of elementary level students is less stable. But as time goes on,the accuracy of most types of negative structure has improved significantly. In addition, this paper summarizes several characteristics of their acquisition process, such as reversal of errors, avoidance, simplification and self-repair,etc.The last chapter is conclusion and suggestion.Compared with former studies, some points are similar while some different. Then,it points out some shortcomings of this paper and several outlook of future research. In the end, some suggestions are raised for teaching Chinese as a foreign language in the view of textbooks and teachers.
