| Where is the Beginning of Ethics?Schopenhauer did not intend to find out some moral precepts or ethical standards which all had so many regulations and restriction, but focused his questioned thinking on the essence of the world and man.Just like his famous book,"The World as Will and Representation",sets the ethical topic at the last part.Although the word is colorful,it just exists as the objectification of the Will. The essence of the world is the Will. Will,is intrinsic, irrational and blind impulse, which must be admitted and satisfied. In such a world, people himself suffers with the inexhaustible desire. But so many desire can not be satisfied, people just suffer more, not to mention happiness.Happiness is temporary and negative, and obtained in the free of pain which is one after one.For people, the life is either pain or boring, happiness is just a Nanke dream.Schopenhauer used the metaphor of pendulum, clockwork and charcoal orbit to interpret the suffering of life, the inevitable tragedy of life and the extrication way of life. With the Will and life, the ethical behavior can be talked about. For Schopenhauer, good is nothing else then the recognition and protective of the Will. With the recognition and understanding of the Will, one will no longer put his eyes only on his own Will but the Will of others and groups. One can not only transfer his suffering to others, but also fully affirm others’ Will and desire, breaking down the boundaries and discrimination between others and oneself, extricates himself from individualism to moral. However, somebody choose asceticism for the recognition and abomination of Will and life. This paper is divided into five parts:the first part is the preface, introducing the maintheoretical sources and the basic position of Schopenhauer’s ethical thought;the second part focuses on the "will",discussing the Ontology of Schopenhauer’s ethical thoughts;the third part focuses on "life";discussing the Life of Schopenhauer’s ethical thoughts;the fourth part focuses on "good",discussing the Basic Conception of Schopenhauer’s ethical thoughts;the fifth part is the conclusion, reviewing the Ontology, the Life and the Basic Conception of Schopenhauer’s ethical thoughts, then highlighting the relationship between the Good and the Will. |
