Over half a century, biographical literature is drawing lots of attention by the experts and scholars all around the world. It has played an important role in facilitating history researches and providing the foundation for literary and artistic creations. As a kind of biographical literature, autobiography also shows its value little by little in many fields these years. The Days of My Life is the autobiography of Henry Rider Haggard,a famous English novelist, including 24 chapters which cover the first fifty-six years of his life. The first two chapters of this work are elected as the original text in this translation project, which records the experience of this novelist during his childhood and youth. The translator has chosen the translation theory and methods carefully to let the target readers to know well about the literary giant according to the text type. This thesis applies Nida's theory of dynamic equivalence to the translation of the source text, which is adapted for biography text.Based on this theory, appropriate translation strategies are employed to realize dynamic equivalence at word level, sentence level, text and style level of the whole passage. There are two main sections in this translation report, the first principally discusses the difficulties met during the translation and several ways to address them;the second is appendix, including the source text and its Chinese version. The application of dynamic equivalence theory addressed the problems in the translation and enriched the translator's experience to make the target text more natural and close to the original. Moreover, the translator of this translation task really hopes to provide some references or lessons which are helpful for the coming ones to study on.
