An Artistic Research On Intangible Cultural Heritage Documentary Film

Intangible cultural heritage,as an important carrier and manifestation of a nation's culture,sprit and human civilization,is known as the human civilization's “living fossil".It is in a extremely fragile situation because of its word of mouth inheritance way.Under the premise of the globalization and modernization,the social media environment is getting better and information technology improves rapidly.It is of great urgency to protect and inherent the intangible cultural heritage.In addition to the main contribution of the government departments,which plays a leading role in protection project,the media industry has also paid more attention on intangible cultural heritage and reinforced its propaganda.As a result,a large number of outstanding "non-left" theme documentary were produced.The documentary film not only records the real nature of the intangible cultural heritage as it is in terms of spreading and advocating,but also reserves its vivid artistic form due to its unique characteristics.It reconstructs and recreates the intangible cultural heritage in artistic means to raise public awareness and expand the scope of transmission,thus becoming one of the most important means of the protection of intangible cultural heritage.This article discusses about the creation of intangible cultural heritage documentary.In accordance with the thesis requirement of Professional Master,this article takes the example of a personal work Drum Story and emphasizes the creation principles,narration style,expression technique and current problems of the documentary about intangible heritage.Specifically,this article is arranged by an introduction and other three chapters.The introduction part attaches importance on the summery of the purpose,motivation,content and innovation point of my research.My first chapter is about the introduction of the intangible cultural heritage documentary and acting mechanism shown in its format and content of Qiangbo drum orchestic ceremony,and the value lying in its history,culture and art.Chapter two analyzed the expression techniques of the documentary about the intangible heritage with a comparison of Drum Story with other outstanding documentaries.Besides,putting out the writer's concern and reflection about the problems existing in such documentaries.Chapter three,taking the example of Drum Story,narrates the creation strategies and narration styles of the documentary about intangible heritage.Combined with artistic research on documentary films about intangible cultural heritages,this paper aims to provide theoretical basis and practical experiences to the composition of such kind of documentary films and enhances the role of documentary films played in protecting and handing down intangible cultural heritages.Meanwhile this paper intends to extend the loftiest respect and strongly supports to those who are committed to intangible cultural heritage studies.
