Baoshengfu is a local catering company,specializing in sales and promotion of the most famous traditional delicacy in the city of Lanzhou,the Lanzhou Beef Noodles.After 6 years of development,the company has grown greatly and it planned to open two restaurants in California,the U.S,and in Ontario,Canada in the second half of 2016.Therefore,some of the business documents need to be translated for publicity.This report mainly includes three parts.The first part is an introduction to background information about Lanzhou Beef Noodles,such as the history and main features of this food.The second part presents the nutritional value of this food,explaining why beef noodles are beneficial to our health.The third part introduces operating details,demonstrating how to make beef noodles and cold dishes.Under guidance of the theory of ‘dynamic equivalence' put forward by the eminent American translator Eugene.A.Nida,the translator analyzes problems in this passage and proposes solutions.During translation process,the main difficulties are the translation for folk sayings,medical and chemical terms,and long sentences.Folk sayings were translated by explaining them in a way that might be more comprehensible for target readers.For terms,the translator looked them up in dictionaries and adopted literal translation combined with free translation.For long sentences,the translator reconstructed them according to their meanings and then translated these sentences by sense-group.Moreover,when translating long sentences,the translator used translation skills such as addition,omission,etc.
