Feuerbach is the first one who has built the definition of human nature through the history. He has restored the dominant position of human beings and discussed a problem of human nature from human himself rather than the spirit.Based on the Feuerbach's definition of human nature,Marx is the first one who has discussed the question systematically and scientifically. In Marx's opinion, human beings should be studied within the process of history, because the nature of human is realistic rather than abstractive. After an in-depth study of Feuerbach and Marx's thoughts,we found that their thoughts were linked.Firstly, they all put forward the natural attributes and social attributes of human beings.Secondly,Feuerbach is the first one who proposed the concept of the intrinsic quality of human beings.Marx makes use of the concept of class in his academic works repetitiously.Thirdly, they all use the concept of alienation, referring to the concept of class to human nature thought.Although the first part of the article illustrates Marx's inheritance relationship to Feuerbach, but in fact they are different about the specific content of the discussion.First of all,Feuerbach has discussed the problem of human nature from Nature. He emphasizes that Nature is very important but ignores the position of Society.Marx studies human nature more in the Society instead of Nature. In his view, the human nature only can be discovered in the Society.Next, the class nature is abstract in Feuerbach's thought, which just treats human beings as the object of perception.Marx points out that the class nature is a series of activities of human with consciousness and freedom, which is practice. He transforms the abstract human beings into the real and living human beings. At last,Feuerbach sees the alienation of human nature in the criticism of religion, puts forward to the love of religion instead of theology of religion, and restore the human nature from God to the human beings itself with love. However Marx introduces alienation into labor, where human beings lose their nature, and he thinks only communism can realize the return of true human nature.
