An Interpretion Report Of The Speech"chinese Dream:Dream And Nightmare"

The interpretation report is about the Chinese-English consecutive interpreting of the speech “ Chinese dream: dream and nightmare ” given by professor Yi Zhongtian,which is on the evolution history of Chinese Dream and has a distinct language style.When consecutively interpreting the speech from Chinese into English,there were mainly three types of difficulties including the interpretation of culture-loaded words,avoiding of redundancy and achieving of coherence.With the guidance of the Interpretive Theory,all the difficult problems were solved with proper methods.Substitution,substitution with explanation and paraphrasing are used for the interpretation of culture-loaded words,omission and synthesization are used for avioding of redundancy,unifying the subject,adding cohesive markers for handling incoherency in interpretation.The report consists of six parts.The first part introduces background knowledge of the speech and significance of the subject.The second part includes the task process,task preparation,interpretation process and interpretation revision.The third part is a literature review,introducing the previous study on Chinese Dream and speech interpretation.The fourth part elaborates interpretive theory.The fifth part analysis three types of difficulty in the interpretation and introduces corresponding methods.The last part is the conclusion,which lists out the existing problems and gains.
