Analysis Of Canton Is Not Boston In Translation Practice

This paper is the translation report on the English academic article Canton is Not Boston.The main content is the translation analysis of key and high frequency words as well as long sentences.Meanwhile,the author also intends to compare own translation texts with published article.The paper uses the literature review,case study and other methods to demonstrate the author’s views to the stage.On one hand,the author tries to explore the legal translation skills and strategies,in order to reinforce the author’s translation competence and improve the translation’s quality and efficiency;On the other hand,in the text analysis and published translations,the author tries to provide positive suggestions from the perspective of the semantics,syntax and collocation.In addition,as the current study of Chinese law is less involved,the author’s translation can make some contribution to fill the vacancy,which is pretty unprecedented.At the same time,the author also recognizes that there are deficiencies in this paper,including the inadequate selection of high frequency words and long sentences,lacking comprehensive argument,etc..Due to the current limitations of available references and the author’s own competency,it can only be further studied in the future.Nevertheless,the author has strengthened legal knowledge and enhanced the translation competence in practice,which has brought about considerable positive academic value and practical significance.
