A Practice Report On Simulated C-E Simultaneous Interpreting Of Lei Jun's Speech At 2017 Global Netrepreneur Conference

This practice report on simulated Chinese-English simultaneous interpreting was based on the recording material of the speech entitled " The new retail exploration journey of Xiaomi." made by Lei Jun at the 2017 Global Netrepreneur Conference.After reading a large number of references,it was carefully prepared.Under these preconditions,the author conducted this simulated simultaneous interpreting practice,based on which this report was completed.2017 Global Netrepreneur Conference implemented lots of sharing and discussions on the topic of SMEs and Innovative subjects and fully demonstrated the restructuring and thinking of new retail for netrepreneur and even commercial society.This report describes the project introduction and requirements as well as the significance of thesis topic.Lei Jun himself is a person full of innovative ideas and courage.He is eager to pursue the combination of quality and modernization.His speech will point out the way for the future development of China's e-commerce industry as well as indicate the direction for the upgrading of this industry.Taking his speech as the material of this report has extraordinary significance.Full pre-interpreting preparation is crucial to the successful completion of interpreting task.So,the author analyzes the language styles of the speaker,background information of speech and terminologies in the stage of pre-interpreting preparation and elaborates the equipment and audience as well as broadcasting,recording and transcription in the interpreting process.The post-interpreting evaluation is an important method to help interpreters to understand their weaknesses and shortcomings.The author performed self-assessment and peer-assessment in the stage of post-interpreting evaluation.In particular,it allows the audience to evaluate the performance of interpreter in a ranking,which has practical significance for strengthening the professionalism of the interpreter in the future.The author also elaborates the interpreting problems in the process of interpreting and the reflections of post-interpreting.Problems include information loss,incoherent sentences and expressions as well as misinterpretation.These problems are also often encountered by all interpreters.Therefore,the author conducted deep reflections and gained some inspiration after interpreting.That is to adopt some interpretation strategies in the process of simultaneous interpreting,such as the strategies of supplementation,reformulation and syntactic linearity.Only by using these strategies can the interpreter complete the task more perfectly.This thesis is based on a simulated simultaneous interpreting;therefore,its related analysis may have limitations to some extent.Whatever,the author hopes this report can provide a valuable reference for future interpretation practice and studying.
