Investigation Of The Employment Status Of MTCSOL Undergraduates

This paper takes the undergraduate students majoring in International Education of Chinese Language at Zhengzhou University as the survey subject,and respectively selected from most graduates of the year 2006 and some graduates of the year 2018 as samples,It investigates and comparatively analyzes graduates' major selection,academic performance,employment situation,etc.This article consists of four parts: 1)Part 1 is the introduction.It includes the motivation for writing this article,the significance and goal of this article,the research subject and methodology,and the overview of relevant literature;2)Part 2 is about the survey and analysis of employment status of graduates(graduation year: 2016)and undergraduates(graduation year: 2018)majoring in TCSOL of Zhengzhou University.It includes a questionnaire survey,an analysis of interview contents,and an investigation of employment websites;3)Part 2 is about problems of these students in employment and a cause analysis of these problems,and relevant suggestions and opinions for solving these problems were proposed;and 4)Part 4 is the conclusions,which briefly summarize the whole article.According to the survey results,the following problems were found: 1)Zhengzhou University's education goal for students majoring in TCSOL is too challenging and impractical,but not detailed enough for practice,and theoretical contents are much more than practical contents in its courses with an imperfect employment system;2)the government doesn't formulate and implement enough relevant policies;and 3)the students are blindly optimistic about their employment prospect due to inaccurate selfpositioning.Then,the employment status of graduates(graduation year: 2016)and undergraduates(graduation year: 2018)majoring in TCSOL of Zhengzhou University was analyzed in detail.Finally,the following suggestions were proposed from the perspectives of the government,the university and the students: 1)the government should attach great importance to development of emerging disciplines and facilitate the graduate employment of emerging disciplines through supporting policies;2)the university should put more effort into discipline construction,discipline feature building and employment guidance,in order to improve students' employment quality;and 3)the students should pay more attention to improving their own quality and training their special skills.Meanwhile,they should keep innovative all the time and make full use of their expertise to seize more employment opportunities.
