This is a report on E-C translation of Research-Based Recommendations for Serving Adoles, cent Newcomers. It is a practical guideline for educating English language learners and is particularly made for providing more help for teachers, administrators and policy-makers to educate English language learners, especially, adolescent newcomers. There are a lot of abstract nouns, sentences with passive voices and attributive clauses in this translation task. They are the key difficulties during translation. The functional equivalence theory put forward by Eugene A.Nida is used to solve these difficulties.Because the functional equivalence theory emphasizes on the correspondence between source language and target language. It also stresses on the functional equivalence of information instead of the direct formal equivalence of translation.
