Environmental Law is a legal text on environmental protection with distinct stylistic features.Eugene Nida puts forward the theory of functional equivalence, which is of guiding significance to the translation of legal texts,so that readers can understand the original text more accurately in the environment of target language. This report analyzes and discusses the accuracy of translation in the eighth chapter of Environmental Law.Functional equivalence theory has a guiding role in the translation of legal vocabulary, and has taken different translation strategies for a large number of proper nouns, adjectives and verbs in special usage to achieve the accuracy of the translation.Annotation and nominalization are used in proper nouns, adjectives and verbs translation, and contextual factors and legal text style restricted the choice of words in translation.Functional equivalence theory plays a guiding role in sentence translation. There are abundant prescriptive sentences and long sentences.Division, addition, reorganizing structures and deletion are employed in order to reproduce the legal text style and ensure the acceptability of the translation text in target readers.
