Beijing is the city with the largest output and the most active demanding market in the Chinese film industry. The development of Beijing's film industry is at the leading level in the country and it is of great significance to the regional economy and the development of the Chinese film industry. The project-oriented “networking” organization of the film industry is remarkable. In this paper,115 movies of domestic films release in 2015 which Beijing as the first production units were selected.Based on the information of participating companies, the Beijing's film industrial network was constructed. From the regional level and the corporate level, this paper discuss the characteristics of the network structure and it's influences to the development of the industry. At the regional level, from the overall network morphology, node spatial distribution,inter-regional linkages, and value chain linkages the four perspectives, analyze the inter-regional linkages and the inter-city linkages within the local city area between the Beijing's film industry. At the enterprise level, analyze the network structure characteristics such as the network size, density, average distance, overall network shape, centrality, and condensed subgroups of the Beijing's film industry, and further analyze the relationship between network structure and the development of film companies through econometric analysis. Finally,it discusses how the network structure affects the development of the Beijing's film industry. The research shows that: First, the Beijing's film industry is an open system that spans space, and the inter-regional network presents a “core-edge” structure with Beijing as the core.Among them,Hong Kong,Shanghai, and Beijing have the most frequent connections.Hong Kong has a prominent connection with Beijing in the production, filming, and post-production sectors.Shanghai has made prominent contacts with Beijing in its production and marketing promotion. This is the complementary advantage of a resource formed by market forces in an open environment.Second, about 70% of the links in the local city area of the Beijing's film industry are linked around Chaoyang District, nearly half of the local network nodes are clustered in Chaoyang District;the municipal districts that are more frequently linked with Chaoyang District are Haidian District,Xicheng District,Dongcheng District and Huairou District, and the first three districts' links with Chaoyang District cover all aspects of the value chain.Huairou District is mainly based on filming and post-production links with Chaoyang District. The local network of the Beijing's film industry confirms the influence of policy guidance on regional economic agglomeration.Third, the network of Beijing's film industry has the characteristics of large scale, low density, and short average distance. There are a few cores in the network, such as co-produced companies,Zhongying shares, and Huaxia, and a large number of edge nodes, the network power is highly unequal,is a typical "axle type" industrial network. The “political attributes” of the Beijing's film industry are obvious. This network structure is the result of the game between market forces and administrative forces.Fourth,The characteristics of Beijing's film industry network structure are conducive to the integration of external resources, agglomeration economy, optimization of resource allocation, promotion of industrial innovation, and improvement of production efficiency. The development of the industry is greatly affected by the core companies. The analysis of the correlation between centrality and corporate box office performance found that occupying the center of the network is conducive to improving corporate box office performance.
