The teaching of the Chinese characters is one of the most difficult parts regarding the learning of the Chinese as a second language.The foreign students whose mother language belongs to the non-character sphere have different needs when it comes to the learning of them,and require also a special environment that allows them to smoothly learn the Chinese characters.This investigation will take the homeworks written by two foreigner students beginners' classes of the Guangxi International Businese Vocational College as the main subject of investigation.In order to better analyse the errors in the writing of 217 characters,and to better comprehend the reasons behind them,this investigation will divide the errors based into three main categories,errors in order of the characters,errors in the radicals and errors in the main structure of the characters.All together the investigation will comprise these three main areas and other17 small ones.The foreign students besides often mistake the order of the traces of the characters also show a great problem.when it comes to correctly writing them which originates a problem that is hard for the teacher to correct.After collecting the results of the enquiries made for the students,and in order to better understand how to improve the teaching methods of the chinese characters,this investigation will also analyse 5other areas that influence the learning of the Chinese characters,especially when it comes to students whose language has no connection with Chinese characters.These factors are: understanding and grasp of essence of the Chinese characters,the type of environment in which the students learn them,the attitude of the students towards learning the characters,the method of teaching used by the professor and the book used during the classes.In the end,this investigation will take.in notice four main areas toimprove the teaching of the chinese characters abroad and inside the PRC,the method used by the teacher,the way the classes are organized and prepared,the way the students should study the characters and the resources that can be used by the teacher to motivate the students towards.the beauty of the characters.Only by thoroughly improving these four main areas can we hope to achieve a better way to teach the Chinese characters and solve the problem.that affect many of the people who wish to study the Chinese language.
