Chinese characters are ideographic systems,and there is a specific connection between sound and meaning.This feature makes Chinese characters one of the difficult points for foreign students to learn Chinese.Although Chinese characters are difficult,they are the basic links of Chinese learning.The quality of Chinese characters directly determines the level of Chinese learning.Since the teaching and learning of Chinese characters effect cannot be improved significantly in a short time,it is often not given due attention.The subordinate position of Chinese character teaching in Chinese teaching is also one of the reasons for the phenomenon of "only use pinyin don't use Chinese characters".Chinese character teaching is inseparable from Chinese character textbooks.There are many kinds of Chinese textbooks on the current market.Among the many textbooks for teaching Chinese as a foreign language,the number of Chinese character textbooks is small.In addition,the limited Chinese character textbooks are rarely nationalized at the time of writing,and cannot meet the needs of all students.Some Chinese textbooks have been published for a long time,and the design of textbooks cannot be kept up to date.This paper selects the textbook "Chinese for beginners · Chinese character workbook" used by the junior class of Hebei University and the Pakistani medical class,and compares it with the " Chinese with me · A Chinese character course book"" published by Peking University Press.I hope that the research in this paper will provide reference for the selection of Chinese character textbooks.This paper introduces the difference between the two sets of textbook writing theories from the writing style and the writing principles.It compares and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the two sets of textbooks in the layout of the raw words from the three aspects of the number,grade and arrangement of the recorded words;from the selection and arrangement of knowledge The order and explanation methods are used to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the two sets of textbooks in the basic knowledge of Chinese characters.From the two aspects of the amount of questions and the types of questions,theadvantages and disadvantages of the two sets of teaching materials in the design of exercises are analyzed.Finally,based on the comparison of the specific contents of the two sets of textbooks,the paper puts forward some thoughts and suggestions for the shortcomings in the compilation of textbooks.
