With many sports autobiographies introduced into China,the sports cultural market has become much richer.As a part of autobiography translation,autobiographies of sports characters have both the basic characteristics of autobiography and the particularities of sports language,which brings many difficulties to translators.This report is based on the autobiography My Story of Liverpool legend Steven Gerard.According to the characteristics and stylistic features of the book,the author chooses Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory as the theoretical basis of the translation and completes the translation practice.This report is mainly based on the E-C translation of the book from the first to eighth chapter.Firstly,the author introduces the translation task and the completion of this translation practice.Secondly,the author analyzes the difficulties in the process of translation practice and discusses the translation strategies and methods.Finally,the author makes a summary and reflection of the translation practice.This report is to provide theoretical enlightenment and methodological guidance for the autobiographies of sports characters translation practice and translation studies,provide the case and reference for the autobiographies of sports characters translation practice and enrich the research achievements for the Chinese translation of sports industry.Through the translation practice,the author made great progress in translation theory and translation practice,and strengthened the belief in the translation prospects.
