Study On The Drum Dance Of Lanxi Goulanyao's 'Wash Mud Festival'

The Goulanyao's drum dance is popular in the Goulanyao Village of Jiang Yong County.This dance is usually performed in the "Wash Mud Festival" each year in the Lunar New Year by the local people.The Goulanyao's drum dance is usually performed in the "Wash Mud Festival" by Long-drum dancers,Short-drum dancers,Lusheng dancers and Goulanyao's drum dance buglers.As a kind of Long-drum Dance,the Goulanyao's drum dance derives from the Goulanyao Village.Goulanyao's Drum dance shows the wishes that Goulanyao's people pray the blessings of the Gods and the yearnings for a better life.At the same time,it also describes a thriving scene when the Goulanyao's people work.The Goulanyao's Drum dance is a coalition of song and dance for sacrificial ceremonies and entertainments,which reflects the traditional folk culture of Goulanyao Village.Goulanyao's drum dance is a gem of the Goulanyao culture.It is the accumulation of the culture of Goulanyao Village.It not only has the characteristics of long drumming but also has the Yao's distinctive features.This paper mainly uses the methods of literature research,the field research,the face-to-face interviews and the conparative research to study the Goulanyao's drum dance.Based on the collected data from the field investigation and the literature,this paper sorts out and analyzes of the Goulanyao's drum dance origins,cultural connotation,artistic forms and artistic features.With regard to the inheritance of Goulanyao's drum dance,the author conducted a survey and analysis on the present situation of inheritance Goulanyao's drum dance in the current specific environment and social conditions.And then,based on the investigated results,some reflections on the inheritance of Goulanyao's drum dance have also been presented in this work.In this work,the Goulanyao's drum dance has been studied and several conclusions have been obtained.Firstly,the Goulanyao's drum dance derives from the development of the Long-drum Dance,which is usually popular in the Goulanyao Village and performed by the local people.It should be a class of Long-drum Dance.Secondly,the action elements of the Goulanyao's drum dance have the multi-culture content and most of them are developed from the Long-drum Dance and the life of Yao people.The Goulanyao's drum dance has lots of unique characteristics,as well as the features of Long-drum Dance.Thirdly,the tonality of Goulanyao's drum dance buglers is the A Yu Mode,employing the traditional national Pentatonic.And its musical form structure is the Simple Binary.Lastly,based on the investigation of the Goulanyao's drum dance,the reasons why there will be no followers should be the indifference of government,the helplessness of inheritors,and the lack of acceptance by local people.Several measures for the government and local people have been proposed to solve this problem.
