During the long term of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,Chinese grammar has always been regarded as the teaching focus.In fact,vocabulary teaching is also an important link,in which teachers usually emphasize on explaining the rational meaning of words but ignore the feature meanings of words.Thus,learners often get out of sync with the acquisition of feature meaning and rational meaning.Even when teaching feature meanings of words,teachers pay more attention to the emotional and stylistic features of words,rather than image features.By demonstrating the importance and necessity of the image feature meaning of Chinese words,based on previous studies and the vocabulary in intermediate textbooks of "Way to Success",this paper points out that the general problems of the second language learners when learning the feature meaning of word image,and puts forward the corresponding teaching strategies.This paper is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is introduction,the specific content of which includes the research object,the significance of topic selection and literature review.Firstly,it introduces the research object-the image feature meaning of the selected words,and then explains the reasons of choosing the words in the intermediate textbook of "Way to Success".After that,the significance of the topic selection is further discussed.In the literature review part,it introduces the research background and status on the feature meanings of word image,and summarizes the research trends at home and abroad on this topic.From the two perspectives of ontology study and teaching Chinese as a foreign language,it points out the issues that need further study,research methods as well as the difficult and innovative points of this paper.The second chapter takes the vocabulary in intermediate material"Way to Success" as an example,to make statics analysis on the image feature meaning.Firstly,the statistics of the number and distribution of the words that contain the image feature in the vocabulary are counted,followed by words classification.Finally,the statistical results are analyzed.The third chapter mainly analyzes the handling methods of Chinese teaching materials as a foreign language for the image feature words.First of all,it elaborates the general methods in these materials for new words.Secondly,it analyzes how intermediate material "Way to Success"treats the words containing image features.Finally,it makes with horizontal contrast between "Way to Success" and other Chinese teaching materials,such as "Boya Chinese" and "Bridge".The fourth chapter investigates and analyzes the learning situation of the feature image of Chinese learners as a foreign language.Firstly,the survey object and methods are introduced and explained.Finally the survey results are obtained and analyzed.The fifth chapter puts forward teaching strategies on the feature meaning of the Chinese word images as second language,including the teaching material annotation and teachers' explanation in classroom.Then it provides a specific teaching design.The sixth chapter is the conclusion,which summarizes and evaluates the research topic.It summarizes the paper,and points out the deficiencies which are as follows.
