A Report On Simulated Simultaneous Interpreting Of Taste Of City Under The Guidance Of The Interpretive Theory

Food culture may be the most significant part of cultural carrier,and it is also the most direct way for foreigners to learn about Chinese culture.The documentary Taste of City,which includes featured foods and local cultures from all the directions,chooses seven cities across China as its shooting spots.The Yangzhou Chapter of the documentary takes Huaiyang Cuisine as an example,thus showcasing local cultures and customs.This practice report is based on the author's simulated simultaneous interpreting of Taste of City.The interpretive theory has been employed to guide the whole process.The author aims to summarize interpreting strategies and provide reference to related documentary interpreting.The report is divided into four parts.The first part is introduction,describing interpreting material,documentary interpreting and the significance of the study.The second part is pre-interpreting preparation.It contains background information,understanding of theoretical framework and professional knowledge preparation.The third part is interpreting process which introduces interpreting difficulties and the application of interpretive theory in the process of interpreting.The last part summarizes the main idea of the paper,points out unsolved problems and disadvantages during and offers some suggestions for future studies.
