Based on the archaeological stratigraphy and archeological typology,the classification,subregion,periodization,distribution,division of labor and source flow of the pottery kilns of the Xia and Shang dynasties in the central plains are studied in this paper.It is great theoretical value and practical significance to study the pottery kilns of the Xia and Shang dynasties in the central plains,which to reveal the specific development of the pottery kilns and the development of the pottery industry and handicraft industry in this period.And,this paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.This chapter describes the range of time and space,specific concept,archaeological discoveries and research status,research methods,and research purposes of the pottery kilns.According to statistics,at least186 pottery kilns of the Xia and Shang dynasties are found by archaeological workers in the central plains.The second chapter is the classification of pottery kilns.This chapter uses the archeological typology methods to classify the well-preserved pottery kilns and divides it into Atype A,B,C,D and Btype A and B.The third chapter is mainly about the subregion research of pottery kilns.This chapter is based on the differences of natural environment and humanistic history,dividing the central plains into five regions: Yu xi Yu zhong,Yu bei Ji nan,Yu dong Lu xi bei,Jin nan and Guan zhong,and analyzing the shape and structure of the pottery kilns in each region.After researching the characteristics and development of the well-preserved pottery kilns of the Xia and Shang dynasties in each region of the central plains,we find that the pottery kilns of these areas has many common characteristics,such as most of the pottery kilns are belong to Atype,the kiln chamber is generally round and there is usually no kiln column in the fire chamber.At the same time,the pottery kilns in these areas also show some regional differences,such as the diversity of the types of the pottery kilns is different,and the overall development level of the pottery kilns is imbalance.The fourth chapter focuses on studying the periodization research of potterykilns.This chapter analyzes and summarizes the characteristics of the well-preserved pottery kilns in the Xia and Shang dynasties and concludes the periodic characteristics of pottery kilns that the types of pottery kilns change repeatedly between diversification and simplification.The fifth chapter is the research on related issues.This chapter analyzes the different distribution patterns of the pottery kilns in the large,middle and small settlements of the Xia and Shang dynasties,researching the division of labor and specialization of pottery kilns during this period,respectively discussing the inheritance and inherited relationship of pottery kilns' shape and structure between the Xia and Shang period and LongShan culture period,Xi Zhou period and comparing the similarities and differences between the pottery kilns of the Xia and Shang period in the central plains and other pottery kilns of Xia and Shang Cultural areas.The sixth chapter is the conclusion.This chapter summarizes the full text.
