| The accelerating of China’s assistance to developing countries makes China-aid training increasingly popular,posing great demands for efficient class interpreting.Influenced by various factors such as speaker,participants,teaching form and teaching program,the training class is professional in teaching contents and has strong flexibility,which requires interpreter to make variations in accordance with the actual situation in class to guarantee the smooth and effective progress of class.Different from full translation,the Translation Variation Theory allows interpreter to take different variation strategies according to the specific demands of targeted audience under specific circumstance.Therefore,Translation Variation Theory plays significant guiding role in class interpreting.From August 31 to September 30,the author interpreted for the "Training Course on Cleaning-energy Application Technology for Developing Countries,2017" in the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province,which is the practical foundation of this report.The author thus picked out some classical cases to do analysis and summarization.By giving full consideration of the actual situation of China-aid training class and the demand of listeners,the author has applied various translation variation strategies for the purpose of observing translation variation subjectivity and translation variation objectivity in case analysis.After comparing the original interpreting and the improved interpreting under the guidance of Translation Variation Theory,the author comes to the conclusion that the application of translation variation strategies can effectively solve some typical problems in class interpreting,such as information redundancy,tangled logic,chaotic sentence,inappropriate expression,etc.Besides,the application of translation variation strategies is expected to demonstrate the service awareness of interpreter,improve interpreting efficiency,facilitate the intercommunication and guarantee the smooth progress of class.Under the guidance of Translation Variation Theory and with the help of teaching PPTs and interpreting recording,the author has made some suggestions on translation variation strategies like amplification,omission,compilation and adaptation to solve-the problems existing in this interpreting practice.The author hopes that this practice report can improve the author’s own interpreting ability and quality,and be of reference to the future researches on class interpreting. |
