A Report On Quality-improving Strategies For Escort Interpreting Under The Guidance Of Translation Variation Theory

Escort interpreting is the most widely-used forms of interpreting in daily life.With the deepening of economic globalization as well as the "Belt and Road" initiative put forward by China,the communications and exchanges between different countries are becoming increasingly frequent.As a result,more and more countries are seeking cooperation with each other in various fields,leading to the increasing popularity of escort interpreting.The Translation Variation Theory put forth by Professor Huang Zhonglian puts readers in the first place,suggesting that different kinds of translation methods such as omission,addition and editing should be adopted to serve the readers'needs.The thesis,based on the author's personal experience as an escort interpreter,is designed to analyze the main problems that occurred during the interpreting process and offers possible solutions to improving the quality of escort interpretation under the guidance of Translation Variation Theory.Besides,the thesis also points out the factors influencing escort interpreting quality and relevant coping tactics.Finally,as the thesis indicates,to be an excellent interpreter,one should possess not only a solid bilingual knowledge but also a good mentality as well as a good mastery of some coping tactics.Only by doing so can an interpreter improve the quality of interpretation.
