Although the research on poetry teaching in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language has achieved certain results,there is still a blank in the study of poetry teaching for the Donggan foreign students.This article takes Donggan national students of the second grade(year 2016)of Northwest Normal University as the research object,explores its teaching methods,sums up the teaching experience,and hopes to provide reference and help for the later poetry teaching for Donggan foreign students.Applying the ancient poetry to the Chinese teaching of Donggan foreign students,at the fundamental level,it can help Donggan students learn Chinese knowledge and Chinese traditional culture and improve their communication skills;at the deeper level,it can have a subtle influence on a person's character,and it also helps the Donggan students learn about some of the Chinese people's ways of thinking and values.Therefore,it is of practical value and significance to explore the teaching methods of Chinese ancient poetry for the Donggan students.In terms of research methods,this article combines the existing research literature on the teaching of foreign Chinese poetry,the literature on Donggan culture studies,and the teaching research literature of Donggan international students,analyzing the value and significance of teaching poetry to foreign students of Donggan nationality.Through consulting literature,we can understand how Donggan international students adapt to Chinese culture and identifying the situation and conducting a survey on the subject of the study in the questionnaire survey,and using a questionnaire to statistically analyze the motivation,knowledge,interest,and difficulties encountered by Chinese classical poetry,and explore Chinese poetry teaching methods when facing Donggan students.This paper combines the existing method of teaching Chinese as a foreign language with the specific conditions of Donggan students to have classroom design and carry out exploration and practice to sum up experience and give suggestions.Through questionnaires,it can be known that the Donggan students in the second grade of Northwest Normal University have a high degree of recognition of traditional Chinese culture,have a high motivation for learning and active learning strategies,have a strong interest in Chinese ancient poetry and strong Learning wishes.In the survey questionnaire,the author also mastered their initial impressions of Chinese ancientpoetry,interest preferences,acceptance,etc.basing on these factors,the author designed lesson plans for reference.The author conducted a part of teaching plains to have teaching experiment,and carried out reflections and summaries.Combined with the author's previous experience in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,he believed that teachers should constantly improve their own poetry literacy;teaching methods should be focused on associative feelings and creation of contexts;the selection of poetry teaching content should be based on the specific conditions of the teaching object,selecting excellent poetry,and paying attention to horizontal and vertical contrasts.In the end,the author did some analysis on the limitation of the teaching of Chinese poetry in foreign languages,hoping to make reasonable use of ancient poetry for teaching.
