A Report On The Translation Of Social Media And Social Movements: The Transformation Of Communication Patterns(Chapter 7)

This is a translation report.The source text of this translation project is selected from Social Media and Social Movements: The Transformation of Communication Patterns.It is a compilation of essays edited by Bari? ?oban.The edited volume provides both analytical and critical essays along with a few empirical reports,brings together some important examples of social media revolutions in the world so as to make people have a good knowledge of the role that social media platforms have played in social revolutions around the world.Chapter 7 mainly tells the influence of new media over local communities' participation.This report will make an analysis of some examples in this translation project under the guidance of Newmark's communicative translation theory,so as to produce on the target language readers an effect as close as possible to that obtained on the original language readers.The translation report is composed of five chapters.The first chapter is an introduction to the background and significance and structure of the project;the second is a brief introduction to the source text,including the content,the authors,and the text style;the third part refers to translation theories;the fourth part,the most important one analyzes long and difficult sentences and translation skills,based on principle and translation method discussed in the previous part.The last part is the findings and limitations of this project.
