Translation Quality Control With CAT Technology

Along with the rapid development of globalization,the relationships of countries all over the world have become increasingly closer,and historical and cultural communication is stimulated frequently,which has promoted the flourishing of the transnational tourism industry.Therefore,it is particularly important to translate travel books and manuals.However,complex travel brochures need to consume a lot of time and translators,which will affect the quality of translation.For the present,many researches on the quality control of translation projects have been published.Nevertheless,there is rare research on the quality control of translation projects by using CAT technology,and it is necessary to improve the level of proficiency with the CAT technology for the translators.The author has personally involved in the whole process of the translation practice National Geographic Traveler——India,with a profound understanding of the translation project.This report takes the travel brochure,National Geographic Traveler——India,as the study target,and gives emphasis to play a very effective role of CAT technology in the quality control of translation projects through the measures during the quality control process including preparation of pre-translation,translation process,and post-translation.If the CAT technology is selected properly,and project quality management is mature,not only the time needed for translation projects would be shorten,but also the quality of translation would be ensured.Therefore,the information will be described accurately,which will facilitate the transnational travel of tourists,and thus promote the development of cross-country travel.
