A Report On C-E Translation Of Kingdee Financial Software Instruction

Under the background of advocating the upgrade of industries and the rapid developing of science and technology,large a mount of domestic software products are exported into foreign countries,clearly,in the communication of consumers and companies,the translation of software product instructions has a great influence on it.As we know,while a software product instruction is described with accurate words and clear information,it is well-translated,which can make the information of the software product well known by consumers.Meanwhile,the sales of the company can be improved and promoted.On the contrary,while a software product instruction is described with inaccurate words and obscure information,it is poorly-translated,which may make consumers complain and even do harm to the reputation of the company,even do harm to the image of a country.Therefore,a good translation of software product instruction is important for a software product,and higher translation quality of it has been increasing demand.The translation quality of software instructions badly needs to be improved.However,there are not many studies on the translation of software product instructions.Therefore,it is from the perspective of functionalist approaches that the author intends to study the translation of the software instructions.Based on the characteristics of software instructions and Chinese-English translation of software product instructions,this thesis proposes feasible translation strategies and methods by studying the Kingdee financial software and producing good translation works,which is exactly what the translation of software product instructions wants to achieve.The thesis includes four chapters.Chapter one is for task description,which includes background information of the translation task,reasons for choosing the task,introduction of the source text and requirements of the translation task.Chapter two is about translation process,including what has been done before,during and after translation.Chapter three is a detailed introduction of the translation method of functionalist approaches.The fourth chapter is mainly about example analysis.This paper makes a further study on the translation and analysis of financial software instructions of Kingdee.By combining theory with practice,some effective translation strategies and methods are put forward to lay the foundation on translation practice.The fifth chapter is the conclusion,namely the Skopos theory is the effective way to guide product manuals,but as translators,we should not be confined to Skopos Theory in translation process,at the same time the article also puts forward the deficiencies of the study and the suggestion.
