Middle school and high school students are in the key period of their personal development.Attaching importance to family education,studying family cohesion intensity and coping style are of overreaching importance to students’ time management skills.This paper mainly studied the connection among the family cohesion,coping style and time management preference of middle school students.A total of 405 middle school and high school students were investigated through questionnaires,family cohesion scale,coping style scale and adolescent time management disposition scale.The results showed that:(1)There was a significant family cohesion difference between only children and non-only children in middle school and high school students;there were also significant differences between single-parent and non-single-parent families.(2)There were significant coping styledifferences among the grade of middle and high school students in avoiding.(3)There were significant tendency differences among the grade of middle and high school students in time management.(4)The aggregate score of middle school and high school students’ family cohesion has a remarkable positive correlation with problem-solving,support seeking and reasonable explanation,and a remarkable negative correlation with endurance,evading,vent and fantasy denial.(5)The time management tendency of middle school and high school students has a remarkable positive correlation with support seeking,problem-solving and reasonable explanation,and a remarkable negative correlation with evading,vent and fantasy denial.(6)The aggregate score of middle school and high school students’ family cohesion has a remarkable positive correlation with time management tendency.Through the analysis of the results,coping methods,include the problem solving,support seeking,reasonable explanation,evasion,venting emotions,and fantasy denial,play an intermediary role between the family cohesion and the time management tendency of the middle school and high school students.Combining the results of previous studies and the findings of this study,this paper points out that parents should create a harmonious and intimate family atmosphere.Schools and families should jointly cultivate students’ positive coping styles to cope with stress and difficulties.
