| Internet addiction disorder (IAD) becomes a significant social problem with the widely use of Internet. The rapid development of internet technology brings greater effect on junior school students' mind and behaviors. Using questionnaire investigation on 668 junior school students, this paper probed into three psychological variables:coping style, time management disposition(TMD) and anxiety state in order to give effective measures to prevent their negative influence on internet addiction disorder.The main findings of this research are as follows:1, The percentage of internet addict among junior school student users is 14.5%. Male students are much easier to be addicted than female students, grade six and grade eight are easier to be addicted than those of other grades.2, There is significant difference concerning the help-seeking dimension with regard to gender. The coping style of different grades of junior school students is remarkably different. Furthermore, there are significant differences concerning the self-blame dimension, the imagination dimension, the withdraw dimension, the rationalization dimension. The difference is significant in the scores of the self-blame dimension, the imagination dimension, the withdraw dimension, the problem-solving dimension and the help-seeking dimension between internet addicts and non-internet addicts. Internet addicts use more negative coping style. The problem-solving dimension and the help-seeking dimension are negatively correlated to IAD. The imagination dimension, the withdraw dimension and the self-blame dimension are positively correlated to IAD. The problem-solving dimension has some prediction on IAD. 3, There are significant differences concerning the sense of time efficacy and the sense of time value with regard to gender. There are significant differences concerning the sense of time control among different grades, and the scores of grade six are the highest. The difference of TMD between internet addicts and non-internet addicts is significant, and there is a significant negative correlation between TMD and IAD. The sense of time control has some prediction on IAD.4, The female students' scores of separation anxiety, school phobia, generalized anxiety, somatic panic are significantly higher than the male students'. There are significant differences concerning school phobia, generalized anxiety, somatic panic among different grades, and the scores of grade eight are the highest. The differences are significant in the scores of separation anxiety, school phobia, generalized anxiety, somatic panic between internet addicts and non-internet addict, there is a significant positive correlation between the four ones and IAD. School phobia has some prediction on IAD.Finally, on the basis of the study, some suggestions are provided on how to effectively prevent the junior school students' IAD. |
