The "People's Literature" In The Transitional Period(1976-1979)and "The New Period Literature"

During the development of contemporary Chinese literature,1976 to 1979 was a very special historical period.With the end of "the Great Cultural Revolution",the outdated literary conception and the literary system faced disintegration,and new literary norms and institutions needed to be rebuilt.However,the reconstruction of literature has taken a longtime.In this period of "temporary shortage",literary creation and theoretical disputes presented the state of ups and downs,by careful test to the bold move,it has experienced the "Preopie s literature" nave piayea an inaispensable ana important influence.As historical material,literary journal has the function of recording and narrating history,it reasonable truly shows us the social conditions and historical details back then.The study of literary journals could help us to return to the literary scene and explore the literary situation of different historical periods more objectively and comprehensively.The"People's literature",which was first published in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China,has been going on for more than sixty years,and has influenced the development of contemporary Chinese literature in the production and dissemination of literature.However,the development of "People's literature" was not only plain sailing,but its "destiny" varies from time to time.Whether passive accepting or actively seeking changes,the "encounter" and transformation of publications in various periods are not only the reflection of the complexity of the journal itself,but also a concentrated display of the complex relationship between politics,culture and literature.Specific to the time domain corresponding to this article(i.e.1976-1979),it was the"People's literature" that ushered in the "rebirth" stage after nearly a decade of closure of"the Great Cultural Revolution".As a member of the "literary scene" at the time,"People's literature" coincided with the development of literature in this period,and actively or passively participated in the process.This article focuses on the "People's literature" from 1976 to 1979,through the literature review,explore the adjustment of literary and artistic policies in the transitional period,the change of the literary environment,and the publication status of literary creation.The "People's literature" is representative of the period from the end of the"cultural revolution" to the early stage of "reform and opening-up",the theme of that time has experienced the transformation from "Gang of Four" criticism to "the Great Culture Revolution" criticism,the "route struggle" turns to the process of "modernization construction".Meanwhile,the "People's literature" was actively interacted with the contemporary literature,in a variety of ways to participate in and promote the literature in this period of reconstruction and development,it has contributed its strength for the "bring order out of chaos" in the new period and thought liberation trends.The first part of the paper generalizes the internal form of the "People's literature" by the change of history,including "resume publication" the magazine in 1976 has started controversy,and changes of editorial members and authors in 1976 to 1979.After combed and analysed the internal composition of the magazine,the second part will be focus on the content itself,mainly revolve around published works such as novels,report literature.Based on classifying the subject and character image,grasping the aesthetic change of the works from the whole and the details and the times connotation which hidden in the text.The third part sorts through a review of the "People's literature" activities,which contains literary activities organized by the journal,pushing up the scar literature and other literature ideological trend,as well as the multiple voices among several theories.To restore the overall status and change of the "People's Literature" in the transitional period from several aspects,at the same time,to find and mining the cause of these phenomena,to interpret how the history and reality act on the "People's Literature",and how "People's Literature" played its role in the transition period of literature development.This article will relocate the "People's Literature" at that time of history,hooking it with the various political situation,literary phenomenon,and try to establish a more abundant,three-dimensional historical fact,to show the value and significance of this representative literary journal in the development of contemporary Chinese literature.
