This paper chooses the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedures as the original translation practice, which is a translation practice report of information technology style, aiming at the translation practice of English for science and technology. This paper explores the translation strategies of EST under the guidance of Eugene Nida's functional equivalence translation theory.Specifically, the author explores the characteristics of attributive clauses in this text.Meanwhile, based on Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory, three translation strategies under the guidance of functional equivalence theory, such as omission, division, word order adjustment, are summed up in the process of translation. These translation methods will be translated into pairs. The translation of this kind of scientific and technological text has some reference significance.Besides, because the translated text is a technical document,it has certain application value to the naval aviation operation practice of our country. The translation report is divided into five parts: the first chapter is the introduction of the translation project, including the project background, significance and report structure. The Chapter Two deals with the translation task description, including the translation task text description, translation tools and methods, translation plan.Chapter Three focuses on translation theory, namely functional equivalence theory.Chapter Four induces translation strategies and analyzes relevant cases, and uses functional equivalence theory to explain various translation methods. The last chapter is a summary of the translation practice, including translation experience, lessons learned and expectations.
