A Translation Report On Main Soybean Diseases And Pests In Northeast China

Soybean,as the most important,cost-effective,basic,strategic material,is directly related to national economy and people's livelihood.Its extensive industrial chain and value chain have great potential power for development.Soybean production has spread to America,Brazil,Japan,Argentina,Mexico,Russia and other regions.However,the occurrence and prevalence of soybean disease and pests would be bound to hinder soybean industrial development.Therefore,to control disease and pests is important in particular.As investigation through main websites showed that related English-translation texts of disease and pests are few,as well as related references,which has not meet the demand of academic communication about agricultural research achievements among worldwide nations.The translator chose the fourteenth chapter,“Soybean Disease and Pests in Northeast China” about 10,000 words from the book of “High-quality Soybean in Northeast China” as Chinese-English translation project and wrote translation report.First,the source text was classified into a certain type;Then,the translator did case analysis for partial contents from three perspectives including words,sentences and discourse;Finally,the translator concluded corresponding translation methods and techniques of English translation about agricultural science and technology text.Aiming at deficiency related to soybean-typed scientific and technological texts,the translator aims to enrich relevant references about soybean diseases and pests.Guided by professional guidance of Academy of Agricultural Science,the translator strove to introduce research achievements abroad and promoted communications and cooperations at home and abroad as well as arose attentions on soybean industry,finally to strengthen prevention and treatment for main soybean diseases and pests including Soybean Frogeye Leaf Spot,Peronospora Manschurica,Soybean Mosaic Disease,Soybean Bacterial Leaf Spot and Phytophthora Root Rot and so on.The reasons for choosing this translation project,on the one hand,the translator intends to know and learn about related knowledge of soybean disease and pests as well as conclude translation strategies,methods,techniques of agricultural science and technology text.On the other hand,we also hope to provide references for those who goes in for soybean production,management,processing,trading and so on.Besides,we would spread systematic research achievements about soybean diseases and pests at home to other nations.
