A Report On Interpreting For Broadcasting Service In The 7th Asian Underwater Hockey Championship 2017

Large-scale sports events reflect a country's overall national strength and cultural image.Serving as a carrier to disseminate national culture,interpreting service for the broadcast in sports games has,to a large extent,boosted the international impact of China and the domestic standardization of interpreters in sports circle.The broadcasting service is one of the most important factors affecting the progress of competitive sports events,and it is also the factor that can stimulate the spontaneous selection of the audience,which is of great significance in sports event.Interpreters play an important role in bridging sports events with the audience.Starting from the interpreting practice in the 7th Asian Underwater Hockey Championship in 2017 and drawing on the parallel texts of previous large-scale sports events,this paper focuses on analyzing the characteristics and techniques of broadcast interpreting in large-scale sports events.After studying the problems encountered in the process of interpreting and summing up practical experience,corresponding strategies and solutions is put forward.Based on the guiding role of interpretative theory in the entire interpreting practice,this practice report discusses interpreting methods such as omission,conversion and division,and exhaustively analyses the interpreting skills used in consecutive interpretation such as repetition,cohesion and prediction.The interpreting methods and skills for the broadcast of such events are summed up in accordance with the characteristics of texts and speech in sporting events,which validates and expands Danica Seleskovitch's interpretative theory in the interpreting practice.By analyzing and summarizing the application of Interpreting theories,it is hoped that this interpreting research can provide practical reference for future interpreters in the sports field and for those who are interested in broadcast of underwater hockey events.Excellent interpreting services in large-scale events will make more people experience domestic sports development and social progress.This interpreting study is conducive to promote an emerging sport and to enhance the overall strength of China's sports which has reached the world.
