The "Li" And "Qu" Of Liuyi Poetry Notes

Liuyi Poetry Notes is his last work before Xiu Ouyang's life ends,also the first poetry theory monograph named "Poetry Notes" in ancient China.This book inherited and transcended the previous poetry comments and literary sketches in form,plus created an new type of poetry criticism for Chinese classical literary theory.Regarding it as the object of study,in the perspective of "Li" and "Qu",this thesis intends to explore the poetic thought and the spiritual journey of Xiu Ouyang his own,clarify the relevant knowledge and the significant values of "Poetry Notes",on the basis of which,penetrate into the hidden culture word of text,and then present the distinctive thinking and reasoning mode in Chinese classical poetry theory,uncover the original existing state of poetry,reveal the influence that literati tradition and subjective gusto have on literary works,finally,to taste and feel the personality charm of the worthies in Song dynasty that they could freely advance and retreat and keep harmonious,self-satisfied to their life.The main part of this thesis can be divided into three chapters,with the addition of introduction and epilogue,comes to five sectors:The Introduction part firstly make a presentation about the primary reasons of the research topic,then analyze the research status about Liuyi Poetry Notes,finally,illuminate the research approaches and expound the concepts of "Li" and"Qu" in the title.Chapter one systematically teased the general situation of Liuyi Poetry Notes and the reasons,historical background of its forming in Song dynasty.This thesis deems that the concepts of "Poetry Notes" are different on broad and narrow sense,its connotation experienced a evolution process from "poetry notes" on earlier period to that on later period,and it could trace back to previous poetry comments and literary sketches on historical origin,furthermore,the social and historical environment and the subjective minds in Song dynasty affected the born of it,while other related works that Xiu Ouyang had written in his life,for example,Guitian records and Shi Bi,provided it with material scope and form bases.Chapter two launched a specific elaboration to the dimension of "Qu".Though the poet takes the discourse and narration of poetic affairs as the core of Liuyi Poetry Notes,the observation horizon of whom does not confine to the only factor of poetic reason,and the numerous items of the book implies his personal and group cognitions of essence of thing,sentimental sense,scholastic principles,natural attributes and life philosophy,which proclaims the distinct rationality spirit and consciousness of Xiu Ouyang.Meanwhile,within the ken of modern literary theory,the recordation of the metrist's poetic theory in Liuyi Poetry Notes endows the book a feature of theorization,and the writing about literati's daily activities makes it appear with a shape of lifelization.Moreover,as a type of literary criticism with the greatest national characteristics,the form of poetry notes stresses integral thoughts and intuitive sentiments about the comprehension and remarks of poetry,thus give a priority to Tip-comprehend criticism on the method of reasoning.Chapter three emphatically illuminates the manifestations of "Qu" on levels of subjective and text.This thesis reckons that Liuyi Poetry Notes is a product of subjective gusto of the author to a great extent,which includes not only scholar-bureaucrat gusto focusing on Dao solicitude,but also literati gusto centering on leisurely and carefree mood.The embodiment of "Qu" on text level reflects the colorful daily life and the elegant,restraining taste tendency of scholar-bureaucrat in Northern Song dynasty on the one hand,and cast a shadow of individual create interests of Xiu Ouyang over the poetry notes on the levels of chapter structure,artistic styles,material collecting on the other hand.Perhaps,the experience of "Qu" resembles the salt in water,which permeates through daily life without any elaboration.Still,the recognition,absorption and digestion of it require an optimistic attitude of "Le" and philosophical personality realm of "Da".The epilogue indicates again the final conclusions of this thesis,points out where the values of research locate,and introspects the unsettle problems and issues needing further exploration.
