In recent years,the adaptation of Freshmen in university campuses has attracted much attention.The freshmen have a sense of loneliness.Loneliness,as a negative emotion experience,is closely related to the level of self-esteem and interpersonal communication.This directly affects the development of Freshmen's physical and mental health,which should be highly valued.This paper explores the relationship between three students' self-esteem,dormitory interpersonal relationship and loneliness,as well as the intermediary effect of dormitory interpersonal relationship between College Students'self-esteem and loneliness.In this study,two freshmen were selected as research subjects.Based on the questionnaire of the self-esteem scale,the interpersonal relationship quality questionnaire of College Students' dormitories and the loneliness scale,a questionnaire survey was conducted on 400 freshmen of College of Arts and science,Jianghan University,Wuhan.It explores the internal mechanism leading to loneliness among college freshmen.Study two,based on the results of study 1,further investigated whether the intervention of interpersonal relationships in college dormitories is effective by group counseling.The results of the study are as follows:(1)Of the freshmen who participated in the survey,66%of freshmen felt a general sense of loneliness.28.3%of the students had a higher sense of loneliness,which showed that college freshmen had a sense of loneliness.The difference test showed that loneliness had no significant difference in demographic variables.(2)The overall interpersonal relationship of the university freshmen is in good condition,and 78.7%of the students are satisfied with the present dormitory relationship.Among them,there is no significant difference in interpersonal relationship between sex and singleton.Boys scored significantly higher in emotional harmony than girls.The only child scored significantly higher than the non only child in the emotional harmony dimension.(3)The scores of dormitory interpersonal relationships of science students are higher than those of liberal arts students.(4)Self-esteem of college freshmen is positively correlated with dormitory interpersonal relationship,and negatively correlated with loneliness.The interpersonal relationship of dormitories is negatively correlated with loneliness.(5)Interpersonal relationship in the new dormitory plays an intermediary role in the influence of self-esteem on loneliness.(6)Emotional harmony and behavior communication factors in dormitory interpersonal relationships can better predict the loneliness of freshmen.(7)Group counseling can effectively improve the interpersonal relationships of Freshmen in dormitories,thereby reducing their loneliness experience.
