Objective:The college students intercourse skill is closely related to their physical and mental health.Many college students suffer from problems in interpersonal communication.Individual psychotherapy that improve relationship tends to be long-term,costly,and difficult to carry out,and is usually only suitable for students who are seriously troubled.In contrast,group psychotherapy has the characteristics of small cost,strong interaction,treatment and growth.Among them,growth group counseling is more suitable for college students.it helps participants to develop their psychological ability to perceive,understand themselves or others,and to improve their interpersonal skills.Interpersonal growth group counseling not only improves the cognitive awareness and ability of group members,but also focuses on the growth and development of individuals and enhances self-maturation.The group members share their own problems in the group,knowing themselves better feel in the feedback,feeling tolerant while being helped by others and growing together in the process of helping others.The purpose of the research is that to explore the effects of growth group therapy on psychological factors related to interpersonal relationship in college students.Methods:The volunteers that form four groups from a medical university and a normal university in Shenyang took part in growth group therapy once a week for 12 times.Each group consists of 13-16 people.The first part is that the team leader lead a group activity each time.The team members follow the fixed group activity to enjoy(about 30 minutes).The second part(about 60 minutes)is that a classmate shares his own confusion in the group each team.The group members discuss and share this experience about the confusion.Before and after the intervention,the 48 volunteers filled the RFQ-54,ERQ,SES,CSQ.CASLSS.Results:A total of 48 people completed group counseling.The RFQ-C sores were significantly different(20.54±8.88 vs 23.19±10.85,P<0.05).The RFQ-C sores were not different(12.04±8.37 vs 13.48±8.94,P=0.068).The cognitive reappraisal sores were significantly different(27.27±5.22vs29.19±4.69,P < 0.01).The expression suppression sores were not different(13.00±4.288 vs 12.56±4.476,P=0.410).The SES sores were significantly different(29.67±4.59 vs 31.48±4.20,P<0.01).The sores of CSQ subscales,such as,solving problem,seeking support,withdrawal,rebuke oneself and fantasy were significantly different(0.72±0.17 vs 0.80±0.15;0.60±0.25 vs 0.71±0.24;0.35±0.21 vs 0.28±0.18;0.36±0.25 VS 0.28±0.20;0.48±0.23 vs 0.39±0.19,P < 0.01).rationalization were not different(0.34±0.158 vs 0.34±0.180,P>0.05).The sores of CASLSS cales were significantly different(180.81±26.730 vs 176.19±27.603,P=0.016).Conclusion: The growth group therapy is effective in college students.It can improve abilities of mentalizing,emotional regulation,self-esteem and coping styles and life satisfaction in College Students.
